morning PaulGood morning, Reoville! Just a quick drive-by to say hello to all.
Good Morning REOVille. Belly full of Mamaw's Breakfast, easing into second cup of coffee after sleeping nearly 10 hours. Feel almost human again.
Deb, it was Darrel who was asking about the RM5. I traded mine away. I prefer the RM2 or the RM4.
Looks like another lazy Sunday on tap. It takes all weekend to rest up so I can wear myself down working long / weird hours during the week. Pays the Mortgage, that's what matters.
Have a Safe and Blessed Day![]()
Just wanted to stop in and say good morning to everyone and see what's been going on.
I haven't been on here much lately, my personal life/career in the military has rapidly taken a 180 degree turn.
I'm at a point where I'm due to reenlist, however my shear number of service connected injuries from all my years as an aircraft mechanic have taken a toll on my body, and I could face a medical discharge by a medical evaluation board. My commander has already told me also, that if the MEB doesn't happen that he see's me as more of a liability and will not consider me for reenlistment. What that means is that no matter what happens I have no way of staying in the military and my career will be over this August. 15 years and 11 months total service, 4 years and 1 month shy of my retirement. I'm totally floored by this, wasn't expecting this to even happen, but all is not lost.
I'm actually looking forward to becoming a civilian again and I guess it helps to know people in a few places you can trust and count on. I have a friend I've known for 15 years who's got the hook up with a company im interested in working with. I haven't been hired yet, but I think I have a really good chance of getting this new job, and it helps that it will pay a little more than what I'm currently making now. I will have to relocate back to Texas if I do get hired for the new job, but I'll still be 8 hours away from my parents so I think that's good. My son is happy I'm getting out of the military, he understands I will never have to deploy ever again and loves the idea of me not leaving for 6+ months ever again once every 18 months. He also likes the idea of moving to Texas because he knows he will be closer to his grandparents, my family and my wife's family like the idea of us moving back too because now the drive isn't going to take 17+ hours, and they can visit us a lot more often. My wife's happy for me, although we talked about loosing my retirement through the military and all the perks/benefits of being in the military, she seems to think we will still be alright. She is a very strong supporting loving wife and I'm happy to start my next journey with her helping me along the way.
It's crunch time now though, I've been focusing on all my home repairs and improvements so we can put our house up for sale/rent on the market. That's my main reason I haven't been on here as much lately. I'll try to pop in from time to time just to say hello and prove I'm still alive. If anyone is curious, my next career move will more than likely be with SpaceX out in Texas.
I've even considered moving to Maine just as long as Rob will hire me, I'm wondering if his employees get any employee discounts?
