Reo not firing? Plz help!

Do you have noalox on the firing pin? The part that touches the top of the battery. Sorry if that already been asked and answered.

So I just got my Reo back from Rob after it took the 2 week scenic route. I put a coil on it today @ 2pm & it was great So nice not having to use a tank or drip every minute. I stopped producing as much vapor as if the battery was dropping below 3.7 except it was a newer battery, then it wouldn't fire @ all.... I checked to make sure the screws were tight, all was fine & still wouldn't fire. I put a different atty on it with a new coil, still nothing I think my Reo hates me, any suggestions here? The spring has always been tilted. I'm so frustrated

My guess is it is working fine now. She has not replied since the 24th.

Take the button top off. Close won't stop it from going all the way down stopping it from firing. And for this that say the magnets move your battery you must have the wrong batteries. The right batts don't have enough room to move that far

I can't seem to edit this but what I was saying is Floss won't stop the button from sliding on too far so take the topper off and try it

Agreed, you might need to put a piece of paper in the top along with the floss to get good button travel.

Since nobody has asked this yet, I will... Is the button locked possibly. This wouldn't be the first time it has happened. Mine locks on me all the time and usually it is ever so slightly turned...

As for the LG HE2's, I am vaping @ .24 and .44Ω and get on average of about 10hrs per charge. I think the lowest they have vaped down to was 3.4v once or twice... This is the best battery I have used in my grands...

Hmmmm, wonder if I got a crap one from the ONLY B&M I've went too lol. Vaping isn't huge around here. Had to get a battery & paid double. I would be happy if it lasted 1/4 of what you get out of it & your @ lower ohm then me. Maybe I will order from a RTD & give another chance.

Since you said "a short somehow". If you take the chance and pull up the spring it might not collapse again. You could still have the cause of the short present.

By the school books, you definitely should replace the spring before any further usage.
But then, if it is the only vape around, two days are a long time to wait...

If it happened to me, I would worry about the reason for the short.
Do you have a chance to measure your RBA and maybe find the problem (in a vape store)?

Without knowing and solving the problem, I would not vape.
After solving this problem, I would vape on.

The risk is, if the short is still present, you have no safety mechanism. So, potentially, you could have a thermal runaway, or, at the very least, ruin your battery, and all the replaceable parts of the REO. There is also a possibility, although slim, that you could actually injure yourself or someone near you. Not a good idea at ALL, to use it without knowing the cause of the short and fixing it.

Battery melt down isn't pretty OR fun.

This is like the 6th or 7th post in less than a week for collapsed springs!!! Your not running a Chalice III on that bad boy, are you? Most that I've read were new CIII owners...

Nope. I never had a collapsed spring in my entire REO life an last week and to day it happened. This seems to hardly ever happened to REO wood mods but mostly metal if one is to believe the postings.

Had a similar problem with one of my REO grands, actually one that I gifted away. I changed everything with the Grand repair kit but still no fire. Sent it the Master and awaiting the diagnosis/repair.

Well all your advice is taken thank you and I ordered a spring replacement but it appears that the fire button is froze some how which I at first didn't noticed till toady> Rob said the button could have melted. My first thought was screw it since it froze in the ON position and not the active firing position I'd let it go which btw was quite appealing since it was too easy (and annoying) to spin to the off position during normal use. Guess it will have to head to the spa. jeez once fixed it only has to last till February and I can get a LP REO more to my liking.

Nope sadly I didn't. The last thing I used on it was a 510 voltmeter and it didn't show anything. I then took out the battery which was warm and noticed the spring. Now I used that meter before and checked it afterwards and it seems ok.
