After 2+ years with the same juice, I decided to make a permanent switch to Bobas Bounty after digging up an old sample bottle from the drawer. It tasted sooooo good with the Odin KGD combo...

Fast forward about 2-3 months...

Now, Im not really getting the same flavor impact with BB as I first did. My setup hasent changed. In fact I even upgraded the batts to the new 20A AWs, I know this wont affect flavor but its worth a mention.

Today, I rebuilt my original Odin coil for the first time (~3 months old) hopefully to get some of that great BB flavor back....

Nothing changed.

I dont know if its the juice consistency, burnt out taste buds, bad Odin...I just dont know.

Well, my money would be on flavour fatigue. There is only 3 flavours that I have not experienced this with myself - menthol, spearmint, and absinthe. These are all (at least for me) flavours that you 'feel', not just taste. All the others that I've vaped at any length faded away.

Maybe take a break from the BB for a while to see if your taste for it returns. In my experience, it might not. I cannot taste peach for the life of me months after my 'burnout' on it.

What I don't think is happening is an issue with the gear - the reo, the Odin, or the KGD.

Most of us go through this I always have a spare mod set up with another juice . If one gets bland I vape another juice for awhile I vape havana gold 98% of the time but I can go a whole week with my taste buds on the frits . The only thing that works is to lay off the havana until the magic returns . . You could try lowering your ohms a whisker as well

My all time winner is Reo + Nuppin' + RxW + Absinthe... always the same winner day/night in and day/night out and I do vape it every day/night. A couple more are Reo + VA Cyclone + RxW + GCV, and Reo + Nuppin' + KDG + a spicy Chai Latte from Ahlusion. Can freely change between these three at will with no palate cleanser, so all three of them see use every day/night. All the other liquids are piecemeal just to use them up (by 2025 hopefully). Huge change for the guy who rotated a dozen or more liquids with palate cleansers every day for around 20 months to finally have some ADV's locked in. Am even going to get back into DIY after a year plus not doing it to make my own Absinthe (already have 90ml of flavor extract for it).

Absinthe kind of fits, it was first distilled in the late 19th Century in Val de Travers, Switzerland... one of the motherlands of my ancestors (along with Noiraigue, Trubschachen and Ruegsau). Wouldn't be surprise if some descendants of those ancestors still distill it there today.

I ran into a similar problem with unflavored nic base. I'd vape it, and it would taste so fresh and right, then I'd switch grands with the same atty / juice / resistance combo and it would be the exact same fresh and perfect vape.

It's a real bummer when when every pull off every mod tastes so .......n good. :)

I began DIYing my own juice about 3 1/2 years ago, after a very short period of buying vendor juice, from only about two companies. I haven't purchased a bottle of vendor juice since. Everything I vape is my own creation. Of course, during the time since, I have concocted many many juices, some very good, some good, some so-so, and of course, my share of 'burning tires' and 'dirty sweat socks'. Any experienced juicer who says he hasn't, is a liar. We all have.
During the same 3 1/2 years, I was bit by the hobby bug, and began experimenting with mods and attys, and collecting them; genisis types, RDAs, RBAs, VV/VW devices, mechanical tubes, homemade boxes, etc.
It wasn't until last summer that I bought my first Reo. I had known about them, and looked into them, for quite some time. But I had always passed them by. There was always some limited edition tube or atty that I was more interested in acquiring. But everything changed with my first Reo. After a few days of getting used to it, I decided: "This is it. I can do no better".
As a result of settling in on 'the mod', 'the atty (Odin)', and 'the build', and just getting down to the business of vaping, instead of chasing the 'latest and greatest', I am re-evaluating my need for a cabinet full of 30-40 juices. I am going through my collection of recipes, and surprisingly, I'm finding that there are probably 6 or 8 that I could easily vape, with no need for anything else.

I, like Rule62, had almost every tube mod out there because it was the newest, had to have, but they all seemed to need some kind of modification done on them and just grew tired of having to do that. I passed up REO's for at least 2yrs, but the voice in my head...Russ...just got the better part of my curiosity and the rest is history. I only have 2 grands for now and am somewhat content. I have a Nuppin' on one and a Mephisto on the other. Both have tensioned coils on them w/ RxW for wicking. I vape DeKang Menthol 6mg that I mix down with 50% straight VG. I buy all my liquid from China now to keep costs down. I tried the DYI route and failed miserably, I just couldn't get the taste, (mostly), that I craved. I still have some of it setting here gathering dust and vape some of it occasionally. In hindsight, If I could actually duplicate it, I really wouldn't be saving all that much from what I am right now. Considering almost 4yrs ago I was smoking $120 /wk...I think I'm well ahead of the game right now.

I don't even go to our local group's monthly vape meets much anymore. It seems that they have become nothing more than 'trade shows'. Everybody seems to either own a vape business, works in a vape shop, or is a wannabe juice vendor.
I get: 'Here...try this."
"Try that"
"This juice is sooooooooo good"
"Check out my .0002 ohm quadruple braided Clapton coil, with unicorn hair wicks, that took 7 hours to build."

I'm like: "No thanks. I'm good here, with my Reo, my Odin, and my RY4."
I guess I'm turning into an old vaping curmudgeon.

I dont know what it is. To be honest, the sample bottle I used was over a year (or more) old. Its what made me switch to Bobas. It vaped perfect on the Odin+KGD, it tasted amazing.

The new bottles of BB from AVE really dont taste like the old tiny sample bottle I had, so I dont know if its the juice or me!? I read similar complaints that AVE may have changed their recipe for BB, so perhaps my old sample bottle was in fact the real deal. Again, I dont know whats going on..

You know, everything would taste better without that ceramic rope you're always going on about :D I kid, I kid.
I've found vendor liquids to be way over-flavored for my taste any more. I DIY around 4% total flavorings and I've found that the lighter flavoring doesn't kill my taste buds like retail liquids did.
If you can stand straight menthol for a couple of days it always helped my buds to get back on track..... YMMV

I haven't vaped Bobas or Gorilla Juice for a good few months until last weekend I filled up one my Reo bottles with GJ and vaped it (I only use Odins on my Reos). It was disgusting. I thought that the nic level might be too high so I emptied half out and filled it VG and gave the bottle a shake. Nope, still disgusting. Pity too because I have about 100mls of each. It seems I only enjoy light flavored fruit juices so that's what I'll stick to from now on.

I'm also a Boba's and GJ junkie. When did you buy the most recent bottles? End of summer or more recent? They did not change their formula but...I did email them in August that the tastes were a bit off (missing the Graham cracker in both and a bit of banana in GJ)

They responded that the long mailing time in plastic bottles in warmer weather my throw off the taste but it should steep back when in a cool, dark place. They did verify the recipe has not changed and they did not change any flavorings they purchase (meaning they did not change suppliers)...nothing new.

Ok, I personally think..CHANGE YOUR BOTTLES! But it seems right now, it's back to where it should be. I'm getting ready to order tons soon. Also, I agree with others, I think these flavors do better in a smaller atty. seems to make all the flavors pop more.

I've found the same thing. I don't have much experience with vendor liquids; but I've found that with dual coil attys, like the Odin, I've had to cut back on several of my DIY recipes, vs the way I mixed them for use in the RBAs. That's why it's a good idea to have a bottle of unflavored nic around, at the same VG/PG ratio and nic level as the flavored juice. I found that some of my juices, I had to cut as much as 50%.
