The drip well opening in my 18490 measures 1/2 inch. Opening in my Grands are 9/16th inch. Hope this helps.

Blondie, are you asking because you want to use the rebuidable bottom feed atty? I wonder if a 510 to 510 adapter would work to raise the atty above the catch cup?
