LOL
I edited the quote as well. That was too funny though!
Don't worry about the moderators. That was nothing!
Cheers

I'm right there with you BigFly... I have quite a bit of eBay Bucks that I wanted to use so I said why not get some batteries. I started looking on eBay and found exactly what I needed. I found quite a few sellers and decided to get from a guy in Amarillo has quite a bit of listings, great feedback and states they are "authentic".
Prior to pulling the trigger I looked at all the text and graphics and I noticed there were differences between my AW's from ProVape and the ones on the listing. First thing I noticed where the recycle signs on my were hollow and the ones on eBay were all solid. I found a link to a flashlight forum and began going through the posts. Andy Wan is an active member and shows his e-mail. I decided to hit him and here is confirmation on one of the replies from him. He even gave me a link to a forum that I will obscure so that I don't get deleted for posting outside links. If anyone wants it, hit me up and I can provide via PM.
Here is the return e-mail from Andy:
Hi Paul,
I hate to tell you but he is selling AW fakes.
Please order from authorized AW dealers in the U.S. listed here:
Link Removed (PM for link)
Regards,
Andrew Wan
Sent an email to the eBay seller saying I was concerned the batteries wouldn't be authentic, here is his reply:
Hey Rob,
I understand your concern. Ever since I started selling the AW batteries on eBay, I have searched and searched for a single official AW battery manufacturer. I have yet to find that. There is a guy on one of the forums selling through their marketplace claiming to be Andy Wan. I believe the batteries he sells are being used as a benchmark for all sellers. He has no website or any info available about his company. If you read some of the threads on other forums, he will not respond to any questions that ask him about his own authenticity. That being said, I can only trust my supplier that what they are selling me is the real deal. I see the AW logo as more of a standard of specifications and quality, rather than a brand that comes from a single source. If you are still uneasy about your purchase, please let me know. I will gladly send you a cancellation request and get you a refund, once you respond to the cancellation.
I am sorry for any trouble this may have caused,
So, now what do I do? If nothing else the seller seems very professional to me and shows at the very least good customer support.
Let me know your thoughts please
Thank you sir, very helpful!
Feels sort of like Christmas today when mom and dad forgot to get batteries for a new toy...lol. Received my VV Grand, looks great. While I do have some 18350s I could use I don't have my RM2 yet...bwaaaahahahah. The only bottom fed anything I have is a carto that is prepunched, how's that for ironic.

I would really question if this "Andy" is the real deal!
I hate to say it but they don't appear to be legit. Look at the text on the batteries. None of the real AW's I've seen look anything like the ones shown on the nitemods.com link you posted.

Those batteries on his site look exactly like the ones I purchased over a year ago from RTD. They have since changed the AW logo.
Look at the ones down front and the 18650 2000 mah's in the left rear. The 18650s on the right were all purchased within the last several months

Look at this link that was posted by nerak for Nitemods.com and tell me they look like yours: AW Rechargeable Li Ion Batteries : NiteMods.com, WonderLite: Your Source for Bright Custom-Built High Quality Rechargeable LED Flashlights, Flashlight Parts, Accessories and Rechargeable Batteries
If so where are the CE, RoHS, Recycle and do not dispose signs on those batteries???
I'm not convinced you can really tell just from pictures if they are, in fact, legit. Your best bet, to my way of thinking, is to buy from a reputable dealer that has a high turnover rate (like RTDVapor). If that's the case, should a batch of fakes make it out to sale, I'm sure it would be found out and addressed quickly, since the owner wants to stay in business and maintain his reputation.
I don't know what or how much testing RTD does, or what measures they use to determine legitimacy, but I've never heard of anyone getting old or fake batteries from them.

...
Also, I have batteries from 2011, and 2012 that do not have the CE, RoHS, Recycle and do not dispose signs. I bought them from RTD and believe them to be real AW IMR batteries.
