Is it safe to torch a coil when it is on the reomizer. Or is the bottom made of plastic and it will melt? Just got some amazing ceramic coils that just require a torching to clean it ever couple of days. Curious if the bottom is ceramic or plastic.

So do you think if I am careful with the torch nothing will get damaged because the connector is far away. Or do you think remove the coil before torching to play it safe?
I wouldn't torch it assembled. What kinda ceramic are you using? You can fire your coil until its dry and glowing, that should be all that's needed. I do it with Nextel wicks. If you're using porous ceramics, I'd pull it from the coil, dry burn the coil and torch the wick by itself, then put it back in.
Looks & feels like a silicone tube for the insulator. I'd be more careful & worried about torching the plating. If you do by accident the color will change & can flake off if it gets really hot.
