My radar detector has been flaky lately - keeps shutting off by itself. This makes the detector less than useful. Today I discovered that the spring for one of the batteries had broken. Hmmmm, what to do? Then I remembered I had bought an extra spring for my REO's - it worked like a charm! ;-)

you sound like my husband. He can fix I swear ANYTHING, with parts off of something completely different. I admire that quality, as I'm the type to just throw the radar detector in the trash & buy a new one. :)

I will admit that the thought of saying, "Gee, honey, my radar detector is broken, so I guess I'll have to buy one of those spiffy new ones" did cross my mind ;-)
