To all of us Stateside, what are ya'll plans for Labor Day?

I am going up to the Bay Area (North Bay) to go on a Brewery Crawl with my brother-in-law and cousin. If any of you are from up there any have nothing to do, here is our agenda.

Saratoga Springs NY for the horse races and family get together .... Leaving soon and coming home Sunday night.

To those of you out of the US, whats the plans for the week's end?

Russian River Was our family camping vacation for years when I was young (YES I was young once) The quaint lil town called Guerneville with the bridge and interesting shops leaves me with many memories. There was a tiny miniature golf course, horseback riding stables and at Johnson's beach you can rent boats or canoes then paddle to Rio Nido which is the next town up the river for dinner. My best childhood memories are from then.

I cant friggin wait. I'm kinda bummed they wont have Pliney the Younger whilst we're there. Though, I don't know how we will survive the weekend. The next weekend, there is the California Beer Festival at our local park.

Hopefully not much and quiet. DH off for three days and home late Sat night but he has lots of paperwork to do. Want to fix pork loin and Jen's Super Salmon.

Fortunate to live in a beach community (most of the time). This will be the final weekend for litterbug beach visitors to block my driveway with their out-of-state Hummers; rude behavior; obnoxious (sorry, but they are) children.

I plan to have a relaxing weekend AFTER Labor Day.

My wife and I might hit up Renfest on Monday as it is my only day off for the next couple months (when is the next paid holiday? ) Otherwise I am working all weekend.

Working nights I have Thur. and Fri. nights off Vacation day for Sat. and Sun is the holiday. Four days off then back in early on Mon. night to turn on the lights. Until then I'll be chillin' in the AC and looking outside thinking it sure looks hot out there.

Looking forward to the long weekend: Tomorrow will be first time on the golf course as a vaper ......then Monday the family is having a BBQ (ribs) at my father's.

What I'm doing this weekend is figuring out what to do with the rest of my life starting NOW!!! Today was my last official day at work. Most people took off today to have a 4-day weekend, but I was there with a few other people. Someone said it was a shame we hadn't taken a vacation day in order to have the 4-day weekend, and it dawned on me.....a 4-day weekend is not so "all that" if I can have 7-day weekends the rest of my life!!! Yay for retirement!!!

I'm kinda thinking about tackling the weeds in the flower bed on the hill Sunday or Monday.

Okay, what have you put off (I wish I could ....................) due to time constraints? Now's THE time.

This IS it!!! It's so exciting. I've been putting off a LOT of stuff using the excuse that I'm so busy with work and all. Now there's no excuse! The first order of business is a deep-cleaning of my house. It is so easy to let it get out of control....I do a lot of surface picking up and stashing, but I really want to clean the closets and bookshelves and cabinets, ya know? I think I have cleaning solutions, bug sprays, car waxes, etc. under my kitchen sink that have been there for 20 years!!! How does that happen? My daughter moved out twelve YEARS ago and a lot of her stuff is still in the closet of what is now the "spare" room. Sometimes I wish I could just move out and start over....

After that, who knows......

I don't really think it has actually sunk in yet.

EDIT: I'd buy myself a new REO Grand to celebrate if I could figure out what color I wanted.....and if I even needed one! (I don't.)
