3 days ago I bought for the first time a couple joyetech 510 atomizers for my 510. Still after 3 days they are not performing anywhere close to my last original atty that came with the kit? I've read all over the internet on how to break in an atty, however neither new one seems to be improving. Whether I use a cartridge or direct drip with 1 or 2 or 3 or even 4 drops, they just don't want to create any vapor???? Well, very little I mean. So little that within 5 mins im reaching for my older atty just to get a qualiity hit!!!! I do not remember this happening when I first got my 510, however being brand new to ecigs maybe I didnt even realize????

Sounds like you might of gotten a couple of duds.very rare to have 2 in a row not performing. If your original atty is still working on your battery that pretty much excludes anything else.
This is why I go with cartomizers,if it's not doing the trick,@ a buck and change each I pitch it and get a new one.

Try and stock up on supplies, you just can't go to the store and buy replacement parts
Good luck and vape on!

Try blowing out all the juice from the battery connector (lips on the battery end) and try firing it without adding any more liquid. Can you see the coil heating up (glowing red), do you hear any crackling? If you have a multimeter try testing the resistance (slap the red lead inside the atty and the black lead on the connector).

If nothing seems to be happening soak it in vodka for a few hours and let it dry overnight and try again.

Canadian Tire, Walmart, Home Depot, or pretty much any hardware store. You can generally find one for under $20, and it's an indispensable tool to have - check your atomizer's ohm's, check your batteries' voltage, etc.
They can be intermittent as well, ie. they will read fine when testing but as soon as you put power to it it opens up. That is what happened with the ones I bought. I could actually here the connection opening and closing when power was applied and I would get a very slight amount of vapor from when the connection was closed but all-in-all those attys were useless.

There are 2 possible scenarios:-

1) The problem is coming from your battery:
- your battery is getting old and is not holding a charge or giving as much power as it was before. Batteries are rated for a 300 charge cycle - but they have more of a human-type life span (cannot be predicted or controlled). If your battery is 3 months old or more - you may need a new battery. To be double sure though - clean the threads on your battery and charger - get a full charge in it and try again with the atty's.

2) The problem is coming from the atomizers:
- if your battery is relatively new or works well with other attys - the issue is more likely coming from the atty's.
- condition the new atomizers by adding a drop of VG on the bridge, attach to battery, push manual button down and hold for 10 seconds while taking fast shallow puffs.
- not all 510 attys have the same size threads - there are a few that may not work on a specific battery the same way because the threads do not fully connect. Hold the old atty and the new attys side to side and count the threads - check the length. If there is a difference - this can cause an issue. There is little you can do to correct this - other than saving the new attys to fit on another battery in the future - and ordering attys from the same vendor who sold you the original battery.

Hope this helps....

Same for all liquids? I have some liquids that just don't make much vapor at all no matter what I put them in (atties and cartos of many types). I have no idea why! So if you only have one type/flavor of liquid that you haven't used before, it's a possibility that could have something to do with it.

I do have one set of 808 mini batteries that work well and last a long time between charges, but they've never put out quite as much voltage as they should so vapor was super weak until I figured out what was gong on. For those batteries I cherry pick atties/cartos from 2 Ohms to 2.2 Ohms and they'll work well. I also found the 2.4 Ohm CE2 type cartomizers, properly set up and broken in, were acceptable on them (the coil is on top...closer to the mouth) for me.

If your batteries are good, and performing up to specs, and the atties are not above 2.5 Ohms...it's probably a quality control issue. The coils probably were not wound tightly enough around the center wick. If you can't exchange those atties, you might give debridging them a try. Then use a needle or something to fluff up the center wick that runs through the coils (the more of it that comes in contact with the coils...the better).

If you do debridge them...note you can't use cartridges anymore. You'll have to drip a few drops at a time. Typically about 3 to prime everything, and add a drop or so after several hits.

If it's an auto battery be very very careful about overdripping! Many auto batteries out there are not sealed in any way and liquid can get down in them and toast it.

these things (attys) are so frustrating.

Indeed they can be. They can also be quite fun. No two attys or cartos are completely alike - so you get a new experience with every different type you try.

It's always advisable to ask before purchasing - what the ohms are or mention what your set up is and see if they will work well with your batteries.
