When I originally got my ego starter kit it came with the coil on the left: http://i.imgur.com/W10ZS6k.jpg
And when I went back to that shop a week later to get some replacement coils they gave me the one on the right which worked fine but I didn't notice it was smaller than the original one for a while.

So I noticed the original coil has two wicks compared to the replacement ones which only had one wick per. And I like the original coil too since it's taller and the plastic seal actually connects to the bottom of my vapor pathway.

Would the double wick coil be better? And where can I buy more of the double wick coils? I noticed it's easy to find the single wick coils but cannot find the double wick ones… (http://www.discountvapers.com/kanger...nt-coil-heads/ really liking these prices so hopefully the double wick will be the same price? Halp)

Welcome Ico1234 :)

The coil on the right looks like it's a Kanger for an EVOD or protank-like (mini) tank. What tank did you get with your ego? I have EVODs and a mini PT2 that all use the same coil. Not sure about the one on the left. The 2nd link (discountvapers) didn't show up properly, so I can't tell what you're after.

Somebody way smarter than I will be chiming in, I'm sure....

At least I can welcome you :)

The coil on the left is a dual coil Kanger and the right one is a single coil. The only difference between the two is the dual coil burns up more juice. No difference in flavor for me. Plus the single coil is easier to rebuild. You can get these at many different websites. I've found that 101Vape and Discount Vape have them for the lowest price. A 5 pack for 5.99 for the single coils and 8.99 for the dual.

If your tank takes the dual coil you can use either. I have not had any leaking issues. If your tank takes the single coil you cannot use a dual. It will not fit.

The one on the left looks like a Kanger dual coil which has the double stacked wicks. The one on the right looks like a Kanger single coil with single wicks.
You say you like the dual coil (left) better because it connects to the bottom of my vapor pathway. Are you having a problem with leaking into the vapor pathway with the shorter one, and which tank are you using?

Here's my tank: http://i.imgur.com/KT0i1U9.jpg
And no I don't get much leakage with the single coil

As indicated on the tank, its the 'Evod Glass'. That should also take the newer updated dual coils. In my area, those older dual coils are getting harder to come by, but you might find these newer ones more readily available, and you might even prefer them over the old dual coil. However I hear they're not as easy to re-coil if you're into that.
