I guess i'm pretty harsh on my batteries.
3 out of 6 of my eGo batteries are broken at the tip. One of two things keeps happening:
On the cheaper eGo "like" batteries, 2 of them, the button literally "rubbed down" on the sides, giving it too much wiggle room, and it makes it nearly impossible for the plastic "button" you actually press to properly align to the "real" switch on the PCB (the electronics) below it, meaning it never makes contact.
On the rest of them, well it's all my fault. I'm rough, and have a bad habit of putting them in my pocket -- what has happened to probably so many others -- which is it "bent" and the upper part came disconnected from the long barrel where the "real" battery is stored. This isn't hard to fix, in fact, 2 of my working ones were soldered from this and work.
BUT, The issue isn't fixing that, but I have three broken batteries and:
- My real Ego C-'Upgrade' (pass-thru+regulated voltage), it has an extra wire, I have no idea where the soldering points are for the real Ego-C Upgrade are. The PCB (electronic bit) is different than the knockoffs I get from my local shop.
- Two of them are missing the tiny, tiny plastic buttons. My real ego-C, I broke it while in bed, and when I woke up it was in three parts with the button missing. I can solder it. But,
My question is, does anyone know the solder points for the Ego-C 'Upgrade'. There is an additional yellow wire, I guess for the pass through, but not sure where it solders.
And secondly, does anyone know where to get replacement parts? Or anything I can do useful with 1000-1100mAh 3.7V batteries? All the 'batteries' should be in pretty darn condition, they all were used less than 6 mo.
To clarify, I need the tiny, tiny, plastic button that sits in the hole of the part with the threads that you actually push (and it, in turn, pushes the real switch below it). Also, some wire would be useful but I guess I could get some from radio shack.
Also my Ego-C is missing the darn metallic cap that fits over the USB port.. It makes my OCD senses tingle!
I want to add as well, one of my ones I soldered, I must've soldered it very wrong. For some reason, it burns the heck out of my juice. I actually posted a few days ago about juice burning -- turns out it's definately only one battery. If I don't use that battery, it's fine.
I don't have a multi-meter handy, my good one died in a 220V accident (non-e-cig related..) .. But just a warning to anyone else, check your output voltage after soldering! I'm not sure if it's possible I soldered -past- a resistor or something giving too little resistance which ends up as too much wattage in my atty.. I'll be interesting to see what a multimeter reads.
PS I'm investing in an iTaste 3.0! Just to try something new, but also maybe they'll last a bit longer.
