Well, I managed to destroy one of my eGo-T atomizers trying to clean it-- the wick fell apart. I was able to transfer the wick from my LR atty to my regular atty, though, so I'm happily vaping again. (I don't like the LR atty, it's too harsh, I was going to sell it... but might as well mine it for parts.)

So now that I fell confident tinkering with these things, I'd like to buy some clean replacement wicks, but I can't find anyone who sell such a thing.

Judging by how nasty it looked the wick seems to be the weakest link.

I've noticed that clear-o-mizers seem to have wick material in them... but how can you make that little metal thing that holds the fibers together?

Thanks for all of you help! I never thought I'd get this technical.

You can get some wicking material/silica rope from here and make your own wick. Just keep the little mesh piece that was used on the original wick for your atty:

McMaster-Carr

Which is the same material used for you ego-t wicks.

Just to be more specific, you're looking for the 3/8" round braided, item 8828K72. You'll also need a "hat" to put on the end sticking out of the spike to prevent it from fraying and give it some sturdiness. For that you can use a strip of the material from a Tetley pyramid tea bag, folded around the end of the silica rope and inserted down into the spike from the back end.

If you're feeling adventurous you can use a strip of SS 400 mesh, rolled and oxydized as the new wick. That's a bit more expensive though and takes a bit of practice to get right.
