Replacing manual battery by auto battery after dripping??

Im not 100% sure bc Ive never used one of those sealed auto batteries, but arnt they not completely sealed tho?
I thought that they just dont have the airhole where it normally is, and have them on the sides, so it is safer, but Im pretty sure you could still potentially get juice in there and ruin the battery. Can someone confirm this?
Do you really not want to use a manual battery? They really are safer bc they are completely sealed and they also give you much more control over your vaping
