Hello,

My wife had an interesting idea today... I ordered some liquids from Tasty Vapor which... well... are very tasty and pretty much taste as if you would be inhaling a blueberry cheese-cake... or a pecan pie... and we were wondering...

Would it theoretically be an idea to suggest to people that are overweight and can't stop themselves from eating copious amounts of sweets to instead switch to vaping? Obviously without nicotine, but I am curious whether the mere taste of the liquid would be sufficient to stop them from eating the real thing! Coz really, some of these flavors are pretty much an exact replica of the actual food, but you clearly would not get all the calories.

I am wondering if anyone has tried this, and if not, if someone would be willing to give it a go? If you know someone who just cant help himself and keeps on munching away, is clearly overweight, and is willing to give this a try, why not? It surely can't hurt, and the worst that can happen (given that it would be nicotine-free liquids) is that they will simply go back to eating the cakes instead of vaping them.

Any suggestions or comments on this...? Personally, I am not totally crazy about sweet foods and do not overeat. Gently overweight but only by like 3-4KG... (if I am to take the BMI as absolute authority) so for now this is just a back-of-a-napkin kind of theory... but I am really curious whether it would work, at least for some people.

Edit: Just so we are clear :) This kind of application is very different from the one we are using it for - which is so quit analogs. So with these people (where a majority would not smoke) all the consequences that WE experience by stopping analogs do not apply. This is important to note.

Since I switched to vaping I have lost weight. Every liquid I use is sweet, and I looooovvvveeee candy! Even to the point where I had huge candy cravings with a broken moler a few years ago and was eating candy....then crying  then sometimes eating candy and crying (yeah I know stupid). Still have to admit though sometimes I really get a craving for the sugar even with the sweet juices.

I think that sometimes it can satisfy a sweet craving but it doesn't take away hunger, and sometimes it can make a craving worse, I'll be vaping cinnamon roll or something and not have had a craving for it, then suddenly, I have a craving for days for a cinnamon roll....

I would say for the most part, I don't really find this effective in curbing cravings for unhealthy food....

Wish it was, though...

I lost 15lbs after making the switch :) part was due to my increased health and lung capacity that made exercise a breeze for the first time in my life and the rest is because of all the wonderful flavors of juice I make. It replaces the need for extra snacks and cravings I get. A real win win in my book.

I've wondered the same thing. For me, I haven't been able to eat sugary desserts in about 25 years, so vaping hasn't helped me to stop eating it, but it is another huge bonus for me that I can taste all the desserts I've missed for years and not have to be concerned about sugar content. Vaping sweet flavors is a really nice treat for me and I'm glad it's calorie free!

It's too bad that a chip flavor juice wouldn't keep me from eating chips. (I love chips.) But you just can't make crisp vapor.

theres a youtube user in the knife community who has hit a road block in his weight loss, he started gaping (of course 0mg nicotine as he wasnt a smoker previously) and he's using this as a tool for blocking sweets out. He takes a couple toots after eating a meal to satisfy his cravings and he's having good luck with it.

You can check his video out search for CulteryLover on youtube and then search his channel for vaping for weight loss

I am a non-smoker who likes to eat when I'm stressed, and using my ecig as my replacement for sweets has been a huge help. I have lost 20 lbs in the last year by just using the ecig instead of constantly stuffing my face. I find if I don't have it handy I eat more. I think the sweet flavors almost satisfy the craving for sweets I get, and some other flavors just help me relax, like a good cappuccino vape in the evening instead of the real thing which would wire me up! I've vaped low nic or 0 nic juice for a little over a year and although its been slow the weight loss has been steady, and since I don't feel like I'm cut off from sweets entirely, I think maintenance will be easier :)
