Highly unlikely that you could remove the stuffing without damaging it. I think there are some cartos call Resurrectors that may have replaceable padding but if they are under 2.5 ohms then they are not for slim ecigs.

I am happy getting a week of use out of a carto. I get 10 days+ out of a Boge carto. I use thin clear juices only, 20% or less VG juices that are light and clear and drop no flavoring sediment and I keep the cartos damp.

I am with dormouse and hairball on this one. I was spending $15/day on smokes so if a carto that costs less than $2 lasts me through 30 mls of juice I do not feel it owes me a thing and I let it rest in peace in the trash. Many people do clean them I just do not feel it is worth my time or effort.

BTW welcome to ECF

smok makes a dual coil clear cart that holds about 3mls of juice. The plastic tank is very easy to get off. when its taken off the poly type filler material is exposed and can be taken off. after the filler is removed there are 2 peices of an as yet undetermined material that cover the 2 coils of the carto. with time and various juice blends these will gum up. i have taken those peices off and dry burned the cart to remove the caked up juice and they are like new again. The only problem is i have not figured out what the material is made from so now i have about 10 perfectly good carts sitting on a shelf. I think its a felt or cotton material which would be exceedingly easy to replace and reassemble and reuse. the question is whith what do i replace it with.

Tried searching but I did not have any luck finding a trade name for the material. I am not sure if they make polyfill in a thin blanket form but that would most likely work

I use resurrectos and you can't take the wicking materiel out with out cutting a wire that runs down the center of the carto. IMHO when a carto looses it performance its because the Diaper that is wrapped around the coil is burned and won't wick properly after that, and its not the wicking materiel causing the problem. When the coil burns a hole in the Diaper there is nothing contacting the coil anymore to wick the fluid to the coil like it is suppose to. In my experience when the Diaper burns no amount of cleaning will fix that, so all you can do is throw it out.

The "diaper" you speak of is what i want to replace. The cart is a standard DC. the diaper material comes off with out a hitch, then i dry burn the residue off the coil, then they sit there on the shelf until i can find something that will wick the juice from the "poly fill" to the coil. The poly fill is easily was with water and dryed. I have used small strips of paper towel to wrap the coil but that has only lasted for about to days because it breaks down much quicker than then original cloth it comes with.

Somewhere out there
The filer is poly fill, at least in mine it is. I actually did a replacement of filler using bamboo spinning fiber, worked ok, but was actually too absorbant. I think that is why they use poly fiber fill. I have also used it to replace fillings but I must say nothing works quite as good as a new carto :) I also clean out my old cartos to get more mileage out of them. bnrk

I am surprised the paper towel works that long, may have to try that sometime. I seem to have read somewhere that a high tread count cotton handkerchief or a piece of cotton T shirt works, don't know I haven't tried it. I find with the DC cartos that its hard to wrap around both coils because of all the wires aroung them, its like you need to wrap around each coil with the wires in the way and if you just try to wrap it around the wires they could touch the coils and that would be a problem. This is just a thought.

I'm thinking some of the modders have sourced some cotton for the blankets or diapers as they're called. I can't find the thread but you might try a pm to BJ43 for his source. You can see it in the pics here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...tainless-steel-wick-filler-5.html#post4370106

Edit: Oh wait, I think they're using this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ainless-steel-wick-filler-10.html#post4394032

I still think I saw some cotton being used somewhere but I can't find it. Checking with BJ43 might still be a good idea.

The Auqa Clear filters probably would work good for wicking material, but I don't know of a good materiel for the Diaper to wrap around the coil. If you can get the wicking material out and replace it to start with, You can just clean them under running water and they clean very well, so you don't need to replace it. Most of the wicking material I know of will just have a hole melted in it if its touching the coil. Thats why there is a differant material wrapped around the wick. That final wrap around the coil is the problem with most cartomizers, when they get a hole burned in them they will not wick like they should anymore, and looses it ability to bring juice to the coil to vaporize, even though the wicking material is full of juice, the Diaper cant get it to the coil. I hope this is of some help, or understanding of how a carto works.

Me either. At around $1.00 a piece, if it lasts you 4 days, that's about 25 cents a day. Like the L'Oreal commercial- I'm worth it.
