Hey all, I am going to start getting my list together of what I would like to buy when I start doing my own juice. However, there is one major quesiton I have when it comes to measuring.

When filling the barrel of the syringe (in this case lets say the needle is large), will the juice be forced into the barrel with no residual left in the needle?

To be more specific, if the needle is 2 inches long with a 5ml barrel, if I am measuring 1ml of 60mg nic, would the marker for 1ml REALLY be 1ml? Or is there still juice in the needle causing it to read 1ml but in actuality it is a lot more?

Sorry if the wording is a bit awkward, been a very long day.

The syringe barrel is graduated to measure only the liquid inside the chamber. There will be an amount of liquid left in the needle and hub depending on the needle length and gauge. The syringe will not dispense the liquid in the needle and hub when the plunger is pushed all the way forward.

Oh I understand, basically its a moot point since once you push the plunger down, the flow stops at the end of the barrel. Making it that there will be the same amount of juice in the needle as when you started? Just want to make sure I am understanding it fully when I start getting into this.

There will be air in the needle that will the drawn in the chamber when the plunger is pulled. The numbers are meant to be read when the syringe is pointing up so the air bubble floats to the top. The bubble then can be ejected by slightly pushing the plunger and to position the plunger edge to the correct graduation. Or you can just let the bubble in there since its a tiny amount. the bubble's size is the amount of liquid displaced

Honestly I dont even worry about it. before mixing I get a shot glass and put clean PG in it. I then suck flavorings out of a bottle using the 16G blunt tip needle and squirt into the flask i am mixing in. before moving on to the next flavor i put the needle into the shot glass of PG and "Rinse out" the needle and chamber. I figure that the .1 or less realy wont make that much of a difference since Im just mixing for myself.

Edited to add... the oly time i make sure that I have NO residue left is when I add NIC to the mix. I use a 100mg nic base and normally use .8ml in a 30ml bottle. This one I always make sure the needle and chamber are completely clean and rinsed before re-using the needle/syringe.
