Both my iclear16 clearomizers resistance are increasing at an alarming rate... one is showing 5.6 the other 4.7.

Ive been using them less than 3 weeks. .. is there anything i can do to repair/reduce that resistance?

Im bummed bc I expected to get at least a month out of them. I dn have $ to get new ones for another week or two & dont have $ for smokes (which I really want to avoid)

I cleaned and dry burned every 2-3 fillups..

Sorta feeling panicy.. have to turn it way up to use and im almost at the 5.0 watts I can push on this mvp2.

I can has tapatalked this.

I'm no expert on iClears but I'm guessing you got yourself some burnt out heads right there. The only thing I use that takes a replaceable head is an Aspire ET-S and I'll tell ya 2 weeks on one coil head is really pushing it longevity wise. Now you haven't been vaping them that long and may have just gotten one good head and one that was crap right out of the package, that happens, trust me. I don't know what the best way is to care for the iClear heads is to promote the best longevity, you'll have to wait for an iCear user to chime in on that one but I'd suggest you do what ever you can to replace them. Scrounge through your couch cushions if you have too, your local vape shop should have them for around $3.00 I dont know what a pack of smokes goes for in your neck of the woods but up here they are around $11.00 you could get 3 new coil heads for that! Don't go back to the cigs man its totally not worth it! Find a way to get some new coil heads and vape on!

Im guessing there isnt a simple solution.

Id totally rock down to a b&m but none here & im transportationally challenged. Waaahh I know.. so guess ima see if I cant craigslist my ipod touch & order something. (This is not me offering this on the site.. just talking out loud) could get some cool gear in re: to toppers & limited diy materials. Think thats my plan. Might have to check into a rba & learn to wrap.. im sorta useta jumping in the deep end & learning to swim & im used to less access to information as I have hear. I want something where once I get set I have limited expenses. Pg, vg, a concentrated flavor or 3, a rba, and the smallest amount of the right guage wire & I should be good for a min (add in syringes & bottles for the juice)..

One of you negative leads is contacting the housing in which the coil sit. I had a similar problem with my.russian 91. If your negative lead touches the housing it will increase resistance of the overall circuit. If the positive lead where to touch the coil housing you would get a short and a decrease in resistance. Sounds like qc let a shoddy coil through I would try a new one =)

Not really in my experience I clears are non rebuildable which means no fix without trashing current coil set up you might could poke around and move the coils but I would just chunk it if you do not have experience with messing with such things . I loved my I clear 30 but have since moved on to other toppers. Bad coils happen every now and then I can't even wrap a perfect coil by hand all of the time.

I get the same thing with my 30S that came with my VTR. It starts at 2.1 ohms and within 5 days is over 3 ohm and climbing. Very frustrating. The design makes it impossible to rebuild as well. I tore one down, destroying the outer shell in the process but I can tell you that the legs on the coils are insulated so I know there is little chance of any shorts causing it.

At 3 bux a pop that motivated my thrifty azz to learn to rebuild my evod and protank heads with micro coils and cotton wick. Done right, they now produce as much vapor (more than the stock heads) and flavor as the 30s at a fraction of the cost. Once you get the process down to a good flow you can easily build enough heads to last a few months in just an hour on a lazy Sunday morning. Some report these micro coils to last as long as 3 to 4 weeks and they are easy to dry burn and rewick plus the resistance seems to remain quite steady.
