What do the resistance ratings on my Nova coil heads and my cartos mean as far as functionality is concerned?

Lower resistance means they require less voltage to vape efficiently. If you have a standard voltage battery, such as an ego, you will likely find lower resistance to produce more vapor, throat hit, and vapor. It's all about the power dissipation and the equation is V*V/R. You want to get up around 8 Watts for the best experience. But, depending on the juice, going much higher has a chance of producing burnt flavor. Does that help?

Very helpful information. Thank you. I'm currently using an eGo Twist and was wondering why I had to turn my voltage down to the lower limits of around 3.2-3.6 in order to keep from hurting myself with the LR coil head in my ViVi Nova. At this setting I am getting good throat hit but it just isn't as satisfying without the clouds of vapor that I was getting at higher settings. Upon further reading I think maybe that has mainly to do with the high ratio of PG to VG in my juice. Time for some experimentation with difference heads, voltages, and juice mixtures. This is going to be fun :vapor:

I run a 1.8 ohms head on Spinners and Twist @ 3.7- 4.2 BUT battery life will suffer slightly....2.4 ohms from 4.0- 4.8 volts. Realize I enjoy a warm vape.
Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like and many of us believe it to be a throat irritant.
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. I vape 70/ 30 PG/ VG.

Quite frankly, I've not noticed any muting of flavors with a higher VG content. I've ordered the same flavor in a 50/50 and 100% VG and couldn't tell the difference in flavor vaped in a cartotank side by side. Perhaps more vapor production with the all-VG juice. VG tends to take a little longer to "take" the flavor, thereby benefits from a few days in steep time.
