I know I'm in the VAST minority, but I prefer it. I didn't like going to restaurants that allowed smoking when I smoked and don't like going to restaurants that allow vaping now. Not because of any harm, it can just be annoying. Even though they dissipate faster, I don't want someone blowing big clouds at the table next to me while I'm eating (and you know there'll be guys with the cloud chaser gear), nor do I want to smell whatever someone's vaping while I eat. I don't think the government should be allowed to ban it, but I think the restaurant/bookstore/cafe/hardware owner has every right to do so

A chain restaurant that I frequent for lunch had an informal vaping area for employees, a booth in a corner out of sight of other patrons ...

I ate and vaped there as recently as last week, and a few other vapers were in on the deal. Everyone kept it discreet, and since there was no tobacco smell, no complaints ...

Today a waitress told me that some elderly women did finally complain, after stumbling on the alcove while looking for the restroom, and then threatened the manager ...

So no more indoor vaping area ... :(

I actually agree with you guys. I was just curious about the trend. I would probably find it pretty annoying to be sitting in a restaurant and finding a cloud of "smoke" billowing around. Vaping is a privilege not a right, and it shouldnt be imposed on anyone simply because it is a alternative to cigarettes and second hand smoke.

Unfortunately the few will ruin it when the ignorant don't. My wife's work banned vaping in the building because some guy kept vaping away on a cigar smelling liquid. My wife's friend said he was using "something that looked like a brass light saber." All of the cig-a-like people now have to go outside with the smokers.

If you ever want vaping to be accepted, don't be a jerk.
