Hey guys/Gals.

I am back.
I have been gone about just over two years. I recently got a new job that has turned up the stress level and I started smoking again. I immediately regretted the first puff and have since threw out the cigarettes and opened up the old vape drawer and dusted off the old mods.

Strangely enough it actually feels good to be back. Most of my juice is old but still does what it needs to do for now.

I am feeling a bit behind the "trend" using my Provari mini. Half the stuff in my drawer I don't even remember what its called any more. Some rebuildable tank thingy made in Germany. Lol.
Also have a couple long barrel thingamajigs. Atomizer? The label is worn off. I really cant remember what these things are or who made them. It's been out of mind for quiet a long time now.

Couple questions.

My favorite juice was Ms t's Snicker doodle. I see their gone now. Where does one find a good replacement?

Is rebuilding still the thing to do or is there better things now? I was using cotton wick, is there a better wicking material now?

Sub ohms still a thing? When I quit it was the "cool kid" thing to do but was pretty unsafe.

Provari mini still ok, or worth upgrading to something newer?

I have some smok mech mod with a spider on the bottom. Not sure if its still considered a decent mod or not. I assume not.

Lastly most my batteries are shot and only last about 1/3 of the day. Efest still good?

Don't get me wrong here guys. The main point is to stay away from cigarettes. I am the type of guy that if I am going to do something I need to be doing it "the best". I have issues I know.

Thanks for reading my post. Sorry for all the questions.

RottenJeeves.

Imho, mrs t's was just a premium vape at a time when there were few. A visit to Heather's Heavenly Vapes thread here would match her offerings. Provari is still good to go. Tanks and atties are an adventure awaiting you.

Thanks for the reply. I have tons of Tanks and cartos is that what you mean? I also have an atty long barrel something. Not sure what it is. Its just a dripper. Funny you mention HHV I just ordered some Cinful pear as we speak.

Welcome back! Things have changed....A Lot!
Sub ohm is now the new normal.
Whatever you do though do NOT use those crappy old(or new ones) red Efest batteries in any of todays mods/devices.
High Drain batteries are required, the red efests are not high drain.

If you are still happy with the power of the Provari then I'd advice getting a Nautilus tank for the top of it. This is for MTL.(mouth to lung)

If you want to "chuck clouds" get a new Provari Radius 40 or 60 watt if you want quality (sounds like you might)
A Crown tank with 0.5 ohm coils in it work wonderfully on top for me at only 35 watts. This is for lung hitting. D2L (direct to lung)

If you want Chinese devices there are a crap ton to choose from, some even tout over 300 watt capabilities. Sort of overkill for most vapers but the watts race is still on.
Many of the mass produced products are hit or miss on quality. I've got an istick 40 I've been using daily for over a year and shows no signs of giving up, while my IPV 2 mini lasted only a few months and the current IPV D2 I'm using isn't bad, but sometimes it reads the resistance wrong and gives a Real Nasty hit.(way too much power). Never abused at all and it is still getting flakey.

Tons of choices for you. Best tip I got is to watch multiple reviews on any device you want to purchase before you plunk down your cash. Enjoy! Good Luck! Cheers!

Hitmetwice mentioned the Nautilus- good move up from cartotanks. Similar, but nicer. Nothing wrong with a cartotank and you can find them cheap now.

Drippers are better now also. And the skies the limit on those.

Probably find a replacement for Snikerdoodle, but might have to mix it yourself.

    Have fun!

Welcome Back @RottenJeeves so nice to hear that after picking up the cancer sticks again you immediately returned to vaping instead. The Nautilus Mini was my first tank and although I have Sub Ohm and RDTA's I now have 3 Nautilus Mini tanks because they are just that care free for me.

    Vape On Safely

    Great info guys.

Is there a particular vendor to buy this stuff from? What batteries should I be using?

The red Efests are high drain. The problem with Efest and other rewraps is that you can't really know what's under the wrapper, and thus if they can safely be used. Sony, Samsung or LG is the way to go. However, if m going with the Provari 2.5 you need button-top batteries and those might be difficult to find from the big three. Panasonic might have some button-tops, and AW of course. The Provari 2.5 has a 3.5 amp limit so pretty much any quality battery will be ok.

If that "rebuildable tank thingy made in Germany" is a Kayfun, it's still highly thought of for mouth to lung vaping. Unless you want to get into direct-to-lung, sub-ohm vaping what you have will still work fine. You'll just need new batteries and juice.

It's best to buy batteries at a site that is known to have fresh, genuine batteries, such as Sony, LG, Samsung, Panasonic

Oh yeah, as stated above, button top AWs for the ProVari.

If you want to purchase new equipment, www.vapecrawler.com is a handy site.

I've been vaping a few years and happy to report I just let the subohm craze pass me by, I only vape to keep from smoking and quite happy with Istick mods and nautilus mini, Triton mini and kabuki clone tanks with 1.8 ohm nautilus coils at 8w. Also do some rebuildable tanks.

Welcome back. Great to see you are back into vaping after smoking a bit. That is why I refuse to have one cigarette. I would be smoking 2 packs a day within a week. lol

I have several Provari 2.5s and still love and use them. I have a Provari P3 that has an upgraded fancier board and does more and I like that even more. The radius is great.

I think you have a Kayfun tank that you need to build the coils for. Cotton wicking is still the best way to go. I use koh gen doh cotton pads for over a year and love it.

I am vaping daily with the same Provaris and kayfuns that I have had for over two years. I have tried some of the new stuff and sub ohm but found that all I need to stay off cigarettes and be happy is what I have.

I buy my eliquid from Ahlusion only. I find their more subtle, complex flavors suit me. Heather's Heavenly Vapes is also a good choice.

Again, welcome back and best wishes for your continued success.

Can't help you with finding your favorite juice, but my thoughts

    1. Avoid crap battery company's like eFest, eFest is a malicious company who takes rejects, rewraps them with grossly inflated ratings. Basically they're pipe bombs. Stick with Authentic Sony, Samsung or LG, Samsung 25r's are an excellent all around workhorse. Good places to buy Authentic that I've had great luck with are Liion Wholesale and IMR Batteries. Follow Mooch's blog here on ECF and only use his recommended batteries.

    2. Good MTL, I say Kayfun V5, SquapeRs on the high end or Nautilus from Aspire for the cheap (but you'll be stuck buying factory coils). I tried the Squape X and don't like it, the SquapeRs is IMO much better. But my favorite MTL tank is the Kayfun V5, super easy to build and wick, very well designed and excellent flavor.

    3. Cotton, my go to cotton is Koh gen Do. I've tried everything from Rayon (don't like it at all), Hemp fiber to fancy Cotton like Cotton Bacon and even boiled Cotton Balls. Koh gen Do is awesome and $11 for 80 large pads on Amazon will do you for a year or more at least.

    4. Wire, I recommend Stainless Steel. Excellent to work with and IMO a cleaner, crisper taste. Best quality wire I've found is SS or Kanthal is made by -
    Kidney Puncher
    Atomizer Wicks
    Temco
    Pure Atomist

Wire isn't wire, a lot of wire that comes out of China is filthy. I don't trust what the machine residue is on it nor their Q/A process. Those 4 brands I listed are the best brands I've found to date.

Welcome back and enjoy the discovering the drastic changes that have evolved since you've been away.

Really great info guys, I really appreciate it.
whom ever guessed Kayfun you're right. Kayfun lite to be exact. I still have a coil in there that reads 2.4 ohms.

I still have a ton of kanthal wire from Kidney puncher and a whole bag of organic cotton balls.

I will be sure to avoid crap batteries like Efest. Although I have 4 in my drawer that I used for years that are pretty much shot anyways. Probably not going to explode at this point Id like to think. :)

I also have a dual coil trident, two iclear thingies and a crap load of carto tanks and cartos.
Also a ton of stuff I don't remember what it is. Looks like rebuildable tanks to me. Really I have a whole drawer of fun still. lol.

I am still a big dripper. I have trouble committing to a flavor. :)
I have long barrel HH357 that I used for years and has never failed me. I thought about picking up a few more of those unless someone recommend something better. I tried a rebuildable dripper but I never got as clean of a flavor.

Does juice expire? Most of this stuff is over two years old or just about.

Thanks again for the kind words and the warm welcome back.

    @RottenJeeves

    Agreed with kfun thoughts.
Man I wish I were you and had a provari and kfun.

I don't really agree with all this clouds business neway.

Started on 9 watts, within 6 months I was chucking ridiculous plumes with drippers @ 100 watts.

Now I've subjectively upgraded with a paps and kayfun lite going between 12-14 watts. Happy days.

    Batteries: 650s = 25r, vtc 4&5. 490/500 = aw. 350s = awt
Just do your research and get better batts in case you change your vape style.

Today it's a kiss with a phenomenon but man do I love the kayfun lite

That's a neat looking setup there. Your mod there looks spendy. I feel like a Provari 2.5 are not really expensive anymore and even less so If you have a mini like me.

My biggest regret with the mini is that I cant use the bigger 650 batteries. I looked all over and I cant seem to find the extra long tube extensions anywhere.

I second the samsung battery recommendation.

I also have returned to vaping after a long hiatus. It took me awhile to get back into the swing of things. Here are a few mistakes I have made that you can learn from. So you don't have to make the same ones I did!!!

if you get a new mod make sure you get a good battery for it, the efest battery I put in my mod made it function horribly. I thought it was defective.
if you get a tank check the etching on the coil for the recommended wattage. I went over.
wash your atomizers and other hardware before use. I forgot to wash mine, potentially some nasty stuff there.

    Happy vaping!

Yeah that's fair enough. I would fancy the extra tubes as well. Yeah I do tend to spend what I can afford (just)
This way of vaping leaves my balance low.

I think the 2.5 is going at good prices for you guys but if it does the job then why worry. If you want clouds then go for it, but if your happy like me with juice savings and battery life. Just keep on puffing the same.
Btw, if you do, make sure you visit the tootle puffers thread and ask away.

But I'm in the uk and so getting things from provape is expensive, otherwise I can get them from company's here but they stock the expensive ones, Like £200+ for a mod.
Procyon? I think it's called, is one of them.

But just whatever vape satisfies you. Believe me though, provape is definitely on the list.
