I started vaping a year or so ago with the idea of gradually quitting smoking. I found that I could not inhale the vapor, it felt like it was tearing my lungs out, I tried many juices and strengths, but just couldn't inhale, so I went back to smoking (& coughing, wheezing, & chest gurgling) full time. One day (while having a coughing fit) I decided to quit smoking and got out my vaping stuff, patches, hypnosis tapes, and determination, and did it. After the first day I found the I could inhale the vapor very comfortably and really enjoy vaping. It has been over 3 weeks, and I am convinced that I can stay off the butts forever. I still listen to the hypnosis tapes from time to time, and found that I was OD'ing on nicotine with the patches so pitched them, now I am vaping full time. After 66 years of smoking (I'm 78 and started at 13) I am off butts for good. So if you are like me and can't inhale vapor while smoking, you might want to give it a try.

That's terrific, congratulations! That is a long time to kick a habit, I am glad that e-cigarettes were able to help you achieve your goal. If they ever try bring up a tax law against vaping in TN, you should really share your story to your representative because it just goes to show that even in the worst case scenario it can help. Again congrats and enjoy your health :)

Congratulations ... I used to say quitting smoking is the easiest thing in the world to do... I'd done it 2000 times.
Staying quit is a different story
I had tried everything (or so I thought) ... Then someone suggested an E-Cig to me, I tried it, and haven't had an analogue since.
That was over a year ago.
again ... Congratulations on finally kicking the habit

Yes, wonderful story and kudos/congrats! I believe that vaping in the mouth and throat then breathing into lungs is the recommended way to vape, while inhaling into the lungs was the recommended way to smoke. I think I've always done the mouth inhale/breathe way both smoking and vaping so transition to vaping was easy. Anyway, I know there are many threads that you can search for regarding this and pretty much ALL subjects conceivable. Best of luck to you, welcome aboard and thank you for your service.

That is just awesome and goes to prove that you can do this at any stage in life!! I, too tried all the different methods over the years and smoked for over 30 years. In 3 days I totally quit with vaping and am so happy to say I'm a non smoker. You will inspire many with your story!! Keep it up....and I don't always inhale. A lot of times I just savor the flavor in my mouth, kind of like a cigar, and exhale out of my nose. It's a wonderful thing!! Congrats to you!!! :)
