DealExtreme isn't a traditional vaping supplier, but they do sell ejuice and hardware in their list of a bajillion other things.
So I thought I would order some hardware from them and see how it went. Especially since they have pretty cheap prices and in the past I've been pleased with them.
Bottom line: When it comes to vaping supplies DO NOT order from DealExtreme.
I spent about $48 on a DSE-905 kit. Shipping was free as usual (actually, I think it's $0.01). The price was a few bucks lower than I've usually seen other kits for.
I ordered on September 25th. I was told 7-14 days for shipment. And I could deal with that if that had been the case.
Come October 12th, I e-mailed in to check on the status of my order. I got a reply about 18 hours later that said "Good news friend, your order has shipped!"
When I looked at the included tracking number, the vaporizer hadn't shipped until October 9th!
It wasn't until October 24th that I actually got the 905. A month. It took a MONTH.
Now, I was aware that this was an EU kit. What I didn't realize is that like every other EU product I'd purchased from anywhere that shipped to the US, it didn't include an adapter. In hind sight, I looked at DSE-905 kits from other US suppliers and their kits DO include the adapter and are often only a handful of dollars more expensive than the one from DX. Considering that the adapter costed me $11, it would have been a much, much smarter idea to order from a US vendor instead.
I will say, however, that what I did get was decent. It was attractively packages and contained a user-manual in Chingrish which annoys some people but I actually love things like that, so I honestly considered it a bonus.
What I didn't know is that the replacement carts that come with this are pre-filled. I didn't want pre-filled and I don't think it listed them as filled. That's really not a big deal, just pull them out, was them and move on. But it's an added detail.
I ended up killing one of my batteries due to improper use but I can't blame that on DealExtreme. Aside from that, I've got a great vaporizer.
Lesson learned.
