I’m going to start by saying I didn’t pay anything for this kit, in fact I won it by participating in a recent ECF suppliers contest. The fact that I didn’t pay for it doesn’t come into play with this review, because anybody that knows me probably understands I’m not a guy that would give something a positive review just because I happened to pay nothing for it.

OK, so what the heck is a U.S. Ecigs Mobility kit, anyway? It’s basically a 808D-1 kit with a bunch of accessories that make it easy to vape in a number of practical situations.

Included in the kit that I received are:
Two 3.7v 320 mAh Automatic 78mm batteries
Ten Cartomizers prefilled with 18mg Menthol
One clamshell case that comfortably houses the 2 batteries and 4 cartos
One 110v AC to USB adapter
One USB Charger
One Automatic Pass-through

So, That’s a lot of stuff… When you consider they sell this kit for $59.95 it really looks like quite a bargain, and that’s before you even take your first puff! But piles of stuff isn’t really too useful if the product doesn’t perform well… Fortunately, and much to my amazement, I have to say the product performs well… very well! That’s not to say I am 100% enamored with the product, I do have a few reservations, but they have very little to do with the actual vaping performance. I’ll address those later…

I also want to add that I’ve been vaping for well over a year, and I own some great gear to satisfy my nicotine addiction. One of my concerns lately is how to simplify the vaping process without giving up too much performance. I travel a lot on business, and simplicity is good for a traveler. I’ve never really had a problem getting through security at an airport with my vaping gear consisting of a Scubagen V-3 perched atop my ProVari, or a CE2 Tank on an Infinity or a Buzz… but these big battery, variable voltage mods have caused me to question my own sanity… when getting a good vape requires devices that look like Spock should be puffing away at them I have to wonder if there isn’t a nice, simple alternative that vapes well, and trust me when I tell you… I have been looking!

Recently, I embarked on a quest to find the eCig that comes the CLOSEST to vaping on a Big Battery mod, but is in that good old familiar analog form-factor. I like to call that size of device a “cigalike”. I have a few Joye 510 manual batteries and they just don’t cut it… I could care less that the battery life is short… but I have a problem that even with LR cartos, the vapor, flavor and hit are just lackluster.

So lets give the U.S. eCigs Titan Mobility Kit a taste…

The Cartos are horizontal coil 808D-1 style with polyfill. The tip is a silicone soft style with a very nice bevel that makes it easy to top off the juice. I really like that feature and I’ve never seen it on any other cartomizers so far. It’s a real plus! The 18mg menthol juice tastes good, with little to no tobacco taste, which for me is a plus, for others, they may not like it as much… taste is subjective, but I enjoy the stock juice in these cartos. The draw is light… not too airy, but adequate and satisfying. The cartos read between 2.65 and 2.76 ohms on my meter, which is calibrated to read at zero on a short.

The vapor output is exceptional. It is actually surprising how much vapor this little cigalike produces, and it has a good solid hit, without being overbearing. The vapor temperature is warm, which is the way I like it.

I have very little bad to say about the cartomizers included with this kit, but I do have a minor complaint, and I have to admit it is truly nitpicking… imprinted at the base of the carto it reads “Menthol-18mg” in silver ink. This gives the carto, and therefore the eCig, a really cheap look. It’s by no means a deal breaker, the good news is that there is nothing printed on their blank cartos, so this is a non-issue for folks that purchase the kit planning on using their own customer-supplied nicotine juice.

I ordered my batteries in the Chrome finish. This finish should be renamed “Gleaming Show Chrome” because the appearance of the finish on the batteries is stellar. It’s an automatic battery that puts to rest the idea that automatic batteries require a primer puff! Pick it up and puff… they trigger on in an instant and the first hit is as solid as subsequent pulls… the draw is pleasant, as I said before.

I have a hard time discussing battery life, because I hear stories of people getting several hours of use from batteries that last me 45 minutes. Part of the reason for this is that I chain vape in my office, and while most people consider ten puffs in an hour to be a lot, I consider fifty to be my average baseline, occaisonally hitting it upwards of one hundred times in an hour… When I smoked, I smoked a pack a day… as a vaper, I test the limits of the equipment. When I state that a battery lasted me an hour or more, that’s saying a lot. An 18650 in my ProVari screams for mercy in under 5 hours. These TITAN batteries are impressive, to say the least. I have only experienced one other brand of cigalike battery that even comes close.

Now comes the good part… The Mobility Kit ALSO includes an automatic USB pass-through. This is really helpful for those long sessions where I’m in my office vaping as though oxygen was my worst enemy. It’s great to vape without killing batteries, and the auto pass-through performs very well. I have only one concern with this device, and it’s actually more about the 110/USB adapter that came with the kit. The temptation to plug the pass-through into the adapter is overwhelming… but the adapter lacks the current output to drive the PT. It’s not a fatal flaw, but bumping that adapter from 500 mA up to 1000 mA would do the trick, and U.S. eCigs should consider including a higher current unit, especially in a kit that includes a pass-through.

My overall impression of the U.S eCigs TITAN: It’s really very good! Does it perform like a big battery variable voltage mod? Well jeez… why would it? I don’t expect it to be a contender in that arena… BUT… and this is importantthe U.S. eCigs TITAN performs well enough that a hard core vaper such as myself can be satisfied using this product in situations where devices that look more like chemical weapons than cigarettes would be considered inappropriate or even awkward, and that is EXACTLY why I feel this product is a great alternative to the big rigs.

Earlier in this review, I said I had some reservations, and I do… these reservations are less about the product itself and more about the hard time U.S. eCigs is going to have getting folks to try this exceptional product.

Problem One: The branding of the product, in my opinion, has some issues. Their website is www.usecigs.com... does anybody else see that this spells out USE CIGS? Maybe it’s just me.

Problem Two: When I think about an eCig called Titan… what comes to mind? The good old reliable 510 TITAN, marketed by Totally Wicked. In fact when I google Titan eCig, the first 9 pages of results took me to links about TW Titans, TECC Titans and Joye Titans… all are 510 models that cannot compete with the U.S. eCigs Titan product… on Page 10 of the results, nearly halfway down the page, I found the first reference to U.S. eCigs. I think this could squash the chances of this products success, and while they are just getting into the market… they could call it nearly anything else and do better in search results. This is a great eCig and I want the company behind it to THRIVE.

Considering the performance, which easily outperforms any manual 510 I have ever tried, and with the exception of battery life far outshines any eGo or clone I have encountered as well, I would STRONGLY recommend this for ANYBODY considering a cigalike style of PV. I’m vaping it right now while my ProVari is staring at me as if to say “What about ME?”

Sorry ProVari… sometimes I don’t feel like poking away at a button and setting voltage just to enjoy a nice vape!
