I grabbed one from MVS a couple of weeks ago.

The tank is a solid piece (heavy too). On both ports, top and bottom, have a fairly long sleeve that runs up into the tank, with the o-rings about halfway between the outer lip and the tank interior. Which is nice I guess since the cart is already locked into the 'tube' when it hits the rings... that might reduce the chance of borking an o-ring... Not sure if it is even possible to replace one if it did rip.

On the bottom, there is round recess that is sliced off on opposite sides, so the round flanges with the flat sides sit flush with the tank, so the cart will not turn once it is seated. And actually, once seated, it takes a bit of effort to pop it back out, it is in there pretty tight. I am running with the Smoktech carts... 2.5 ohm, single hole punched. The carts themselves are actually a little loose in the o-rings. Once I get it off the seat, it slides fairly easily... being my first tank, I am not sure how firm those rings should be on the cart, so I have nothing to go off. It would be more of a problem I guess if the cart didn't 'stick' so well once seated. I have yet to have the cart pull out if I pick it up by the tank (though I tend not to).

I have a red one, with a brushed aluminum finish that looks really nice... outside of the far more expensive 'artisan' tanks, I don't think there is a better looking one available. The ends are chromed with "SMOK TECHNOLOGY PYREX DCT" etched on the top and a big ol' "SMOK" in white along one side. The diameter is only slightly smaller than my Vamo, so it looks pretty slick sitting on top.

Works great. Now, correct me if this isn't what is supposed to happen.. tank noob... but I'll see bubbles coming out of the hole when I vape, which I assume means it is wicking OK. My one complaint is that with such small cutouts in the metal cladding on the side, I can't see the hole. On some carts, its dead center, on others, it is too far off to the side to see.

That lack of visibility, combined with the long sleeves, makes it a bit tricky to fill (especially fill up high). But a tank took like a slap you mama will solve that (such a tool will be in my next gear order). Not sure what the actual capacity is on it though as I haven't measured the juice I've put in. MVS says it is as big as a 6ml tank, but holds 3.5... I think it might be closer to 4 or 5ml though.

Would I buy another? Probably not. This was my first tank, and purchased so I had a glass tank in my gear... My next tank will probably be one of the VVV polypro tanks. To be honest, if I knew about them before buying this one, I most likely would have got 2 of those instead. I didn't really buy it based on looks, I bought it for the glass.

That said, it is still a really nice tank, albeit with a couple of little flaws.

I've been using a couple of these for a couple months now and they're my primary devices. They're tanks and do what a tank does, hold juice. Other than the fact you can't fully disassemble for cleaning, they function as well as any tank.
I have both the smok and boge cartos, and found the Boges are a little more difficult to fit. I've tore up the orings on drip tips and often the carto flange doesn't sit flush in the base, but the Smoks do fine.
You shouldn't need to see your holes as these can be vaped till empty, then you have nearly another ml in the carto. I run mine empty all the time and they dont flood, gurgle, or burn. Having said that, they are sensitive to warm humid conditions. Just came back from a week on the beach at the Florida panhandle and couldn't take these out of the condo. As long as they stayed in the air conditioned room, or outside for brief periods of time, they were fine. Out in the heat, they flooded pretty bad, but I dont think that's an indictment on the carto or tank.
Long story short, I'm perfectly happy with mine and really dont see a reason to buy a $40-$50 tank.

I just got one of these today from vapingcraze.com. I was confused at first.... I'm still new at this. My other tanks (protank and a smoktech pyrex nova) are just that... tanks. I was confused by why there was a piece that slid out... and now I know, that's called a cartomizer. Duhhh! Anyway, I like the way it vapes...to me, the protank is airy. I find that this DCT tank has a nice draw and doesn't mute the flavors. Anyone tried the generic ones linked above? If so, I'd like to hear a review.... because they have PURPLE! :)

I bought my tank yesterday and don't know yet if I really like it or not. I had the sales guy at my local vape shop show me how to fill it with Cool Water, a watermelon/menthol juice. Cool. Looked easy enough. Today I want to add a couple drops of Frozen Tundra. Guess what, I can't slide the carto out. The sales guy pushed the carto in until it snapped in. It's in so tight, it won't come out. I even tried taking another carto and pushed down on the carto from the top of the tank. Saw that done in a YouTube video. Still no luck. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions?

Sounds like the o-rings are just realllllllly tight.... A tank refill tool works better than another carto, but if you don't have one (you should, they make refilling a snap!), a reasonable effort.

You might try putting it back on a battery and twisting the body of the tank. Once you do break it loose, it should slide pretty easily. So, don't try to pull it off all the way, juice everywhere  Good luck!

So far this is definitely my favorite atomizer, or tank, or cartomizer....what is it called officially? lol. On the forum it is under "Tanks". Anyway I love the great big clouds of vapor i blow out of these lol. Just awesome! I did lost about 4 ml of fluid though when i accidentally let the tube slide out while it was full of liquid lol. oops. Got liquid everywhere all over my hands shirt and eVic haha

Haha, I accidentally dropped one on the ground and even though the metal tube protruded slightly higher out of the top it worked until the wick just slipped out rofl. My fault for dropping it though. It was kinda funny just seeing the wick attacked to my battery and nothing else. Oh well this is how we learn right?

I took it back to where I got it from and they took it apart, dumped the juice and refilled it with something my hubby chose. He likes it. I dont like the drag on it and I don't get the vapor I like. I'm a newby, so it's all trial and error right now. Not to change the topic but I bought a Protank II to replace the SMOK DCT and am loving it.
