Hey all, so after much research, I realized the only way to truly tell the difference between all of the above is to try them all out! So part of this is to hopefully help out some of those who are wondering the same things that I was, but while I'm at it, I do have a few quick questions about some specifics. Here are my reviews.

Atty (501 LR w/drip-tip):
PROS: The best vape and throat hit, hands down.
CONS: Only two to three drops at a time, topping off too frequently is inconvenient for travelling.

Cartomizer (501 XL dual-coil LR) :
PROS: Carries 1.5 to 2 ml of juice for less frequent filling.
CONS: Vape and throat hit is about 80% of what I would get with a drip-tip, doesn't taste as pure as with atty (because of filler?).

Tank (eGo-T, type A LR):
PROS: Also carries 1.5 to 2 ml of juice for less frequent filling, cleaner smooth taste than with carto.
CONS: Weak vape and throat hit, about 50% of what I would get with a drip-tip, comparable to a SR atty.

I should also note I'm using an eGO with 650 mah and 900 mah batteries.

So on to my questions:

1) If I take the filler out of the carto, isn't it essentially the exact same thing as an atty?

2) Why is it attys are 5 times the price of cartos?

3) Am I supposed to use a drip-tip with the carto, or just leave it as is and use it with the white cap on top?

4) Is there a was of improving the performance of the tank?

Much thanks.

I've tried "tank style" atomizers (eGo-T) and Boge cartomizers (slotted with a Liquinator tank).

The eGo-T attys were very finicky, didn't perform well for very long, a pain to clean, and VERY expensive. I'm on week three with a single Boge cartomizer now and it is still performing like new. The vapor production and flavor blows the eGo-T atomizers out of the water. I think having it constantly fed with the Liquinator really extends the life of it too . . . and I've been vaping mostly at 6v. Not to mention they are only $2 a piece. My vote goes for the cartomizer/tank combo.

Atomizers are supposed to last longer than cartomizers. Both are made to be used and thrown away, but cartomizers are only supposed to last a week or less, while an attie is supposed to last much longer. Have you tried any of the other tanks out there. Mom and pops has a good one and vaperite carres a dual coil smok tank. I just got them in and have not tried them yet, or figured which one I like best yet. The cartomizers are replacable in them and the other tanks I have used have awesome taste, vapor and throat hit. I like the side nob on the mom and pops model, while the smok requires a different method of filling, but it has a more pollished look.
