I posted this over in the Modding Forum under Atomizer mods, but thought some folks here would find it interested as well. One addition I didnt mention is that I used an RSST atty post insulator to beef up the 510 screw which can be loose sometimes. It fit flush, very tight and provides good compression on the screw for fine tuning adjustments.
I had an extra A7 sitting around in the vape box and decided it was time to do something with it. The A7 is, for all its simplicity, a well designed device. All parts are easily taken apart and overall is very well built. I think Quigsworths walked through a mod for this so I am not gonna repeat all the technical aspects, just the slight improvement I made.
There are two primary changes I made that IMO make the device shine as bottom feeder. The first was the removal of the center airpost to allow for better drainage and the second was to reduce unnecessary volume in the topcap. I used a modded fastech Taifun driptip upside down. I modded the driptip slightly by removing removing its o-ring, and smoothing out the last ring towards the end. Then I placed two o-rings on the thinner portion which provides a secure compression to the atty cap.
Effective airchamber volume is reduce by about 50%. Compared to another BF A7 I have, the vape is remarkably improved.
