Soo I've been thinking about getting some wicking material so that I can re-wick some of my clearomizers. Do you think I would get more life out of a coil doing this? I've been checking out the silica wicks on discountvapers and they seem to be a good price. Also, if I do get some which mm should I get it it in? I know I'm asking alot of questions here but I am definitely inexperienced in this type of thing so any feedback/advice will be appreciated :D

The clearo's I'm thinking of re-wicking are the Kanger T3S and Protank

I'm always looking for ways to get the most life out of each head and was just wondering if this would help

Hi JameszC,

well it wouldn't be longer life, it would be NEW life--the metal base parts of the coil assembly should last forever

the 'wick' & 'wire' burn out , then need replaced

wick is pretty cheap get both 2mm & 3mm then see what you prefer
most try 32ga Kanthal wire... (cheap, get some 30 also)

the Kanger "bcc" is a great coil to rebuild too... :2cool:

Good Luck !

Thanks Zeppelin! I was thinking about just trying to rebuild one, which seems to be the most cost effective method. I might just do that, do I need anything to check the ohm's? Because at the moment I don't have any device that will do that.

Before you start building coils definitely invest in a multimeter. You can get a decent digital meter for $15 or $20.

if your real cheep, like me they have a basic multi meter at harbor freight for 5$ made by cen-tech(7 function digital multi meter item # 92020) cheep and easy to use. There also awesome at reading bat voltage if you ever get a mech mod.

I am definitely cheap lol thanks for the advice, I do have a harbor freight not too far from where I live. I also found the one you mentioned (at least the brand name) on Amazon as well. Now that I think about it....my dad tinkers on electronics fairly often so more likely than not I bet he has one, Idk why I just now thought about it

yepper, you'll need a meter of some kind to gauge What Your Doing

have you watched any youtube vids about coil rebuilds ? there are tons but this is one I like :

- A PBusardo Review All About The EVOD - Includes Recoiling - YouTube

let us know how things work out -- Good Luck :headbang:

That's a great video, thanks for sharing! I will definitely use that for reference. To answer your question, yes I've watched a few videos on coil rebuilding like Grim Greens Protank rebuilding but I'll probably have to watch them again lol. Thanks for all the help! :)

If yor dad is like mine he has three, but don't but it back exactly where it was and you will loose a hand. If so spend the 5 bucks so much cheaper than a mad dad.

Ok so I've been looking at mad vapes and discountvapers and regarding kanthal wire/silica wicks they're are completely out of stock. Does anyone know of a site that keeps them in stock most of the time, at a reasonable price?

Try SteamMonkey.com or KidneyPuncher.com; they should have everything you need.

If you want large quantities you can find everything you need on eBay.

Thanks! I checked out those sites but steam monkey was out of wicks (they only have one type) and the shipping price on kidney punch wasn't what I was looking for (I'm a cheapskate lol). So I ended up getting some 32 gauge kanthal wire from e-bay along with some 2mm silica. Thanks for all the help guys! Whenever it comes in and I get around to rebuilding one of my bcc I'll let you all know how it went :)
