This thread is exactly what I was looking for tonight, so thank you all!! I just want to be sure I get it straight. (I have Kanger Mini Protank II's and EVOD) SO, first has anyone done this on a EVOD with success? I MUCH prefer the Protank, just tastes a million times better.... but I'm broke! So, just pull out the wicks from the bottom and thread through some cotton? How much do you leave on each side? What about a candle wick? I used to make candles and have a bunch of cotton wicks SOMEWHERE... anyone try that? And can do the same cotton on EVOD? Thanks in advance!!

HA!!! I did it!! I did it on both the Kanger and a EVOD... hope it wasn't too thick or thin... guess I'll find out! I then read to wait an hour and tried a hit and just got burnt taste, so will let them sit overnight and see!! Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! I only have 2 EGO-T and I know they aren't that powerful, but if this works, I'm stoked!! We are so broke, ALL of mine are burnt out and didn't know what to do!! Thanks everyone! I'll report back in tomorrow!!! :)

I just tried this using sterile cotton from a q-tip. I rolled up a wick and threaded it through a stock 1.8ohm coil. I used a rolled cotton "flavor wick" because I am concerned with flooding/gurgling. I find that I do taste more of the juice, the flavors aren't as muted as with silica. However, it also adds a distinct cottony flavor. My fav black cherry juice definitely has a bolder flavor, but now with a hint of lint or dust. I am going to give it a few more vapes, if it's still weird, I will try without the flavor wick, and if it's still weird, I'm going to grab some sterile cotton from CVS. If that doesn't work, it's back to silica.

I've rebuilt several heads using cotton wicks made from cotton balls. I've never had issues with gurgling or flooding since switching to cotton, without flavor wicks. I have tried flavor wicks, but found they burned easy and made rewicking coils more of a pain than anything.

Try removing the flavor wick, and see if that helps with the taste.
