Rewicking my protank2

If this is not in the right section I do apologize and mods please move it to where its suppose to be.

Now, I have had my protank 2 for about 2 weeks and have been getting a nasty flavor for the past couple days and decided to pull the wick out and clean it... Well I just ended up putting a fresh wick (2.5mm silica wick) and kanthel (32 gauge) wire back in.

Here is the end result. I haven't measured the ohms and I know I should but nothing has melted or caught fire yet.

Once my evic comes in I will be able to measure ohms.

I torched the wick and wrapped it the best I could.

Taste is great, just a hint of silica if I do back to back heavy vape

vape is great

All this on a non adjustable ego battery.

Comments, concerns, advice is welcome both good and bad

Definitely get an ohm reader or mod that reads the ohms if you attempt this stuff. I just got in on a deal from vapor joes and ordered 20 atomizers for 25 bucks, much easier for me cause i'm not too good with rebuilding yet.

nice job on the wick/coil. at 4 wraps that will probably be around 2.0 ohms. but u need a meter to verify it .

yup i just ordered and got 15 coils. ill make one more order soon. i figure as soon as i have a stash built up of coils ill rebuild so i have a rotation

I just started rebuilding the coils for my Evods. With 3mm wick and 32 gauge wire I got 17 ohms on 4 wraps and 20 ohms on 5.

Could you possibly have meant "1.7Ω" and "2.0Ω"?

4 wraps reads 1.8-2 ohms on my rebuilds

I usually use 4-6 wraps on my evods/protanks with 32g kanthal wire. I use 6 wraps if I'm using 2mm silica wick, and about 4 wraps when I double the wick (4mm). Usually comes out to 1.8-2.5ohms , depending on how many wraps I use (between 4-6) and whether or not I double the wick.

It is extremely easy, but if you don't know to get it apart, you really should watch a youtube video on rebuilding protanks/evods....because the whole process is a lot easier to show then to explain.

The cylinder base comes right off with some wiggling. Personally, I use needle nose pliers, because there are 2 pairs of pliers I need to use for rebuilding anyway (one sharp pair for cutting wick/wire, and the other pair for pulling off the base,,etc)
