Risk of battery failure from carto leak on manual battery

I was wondering if there is any risk of juice getting into a manual kr808d-1 battery? I noticed on a couple of my batteries there appears to be a darkish color residue between the center pin on the battery and the threading. Is this normal or am I doing something horribly wrong?

Its normal to get juice residue around the middle battery contact . I dont think it will get out the bottom of the connector though as there is a washer there .

My other question would be then, is there a way good way to clean it out? It's a very tight space and nothing spare a toothpick will likely be able to get in there. Would a toothpick damp with 91% iso alcohol be okay to use for this?

There are some dangers when charging one with juice in it, and if the juice runs down into the button you can cause it to get sticky....

Manual batteries are sealed so you shouldn't have a problem with liquid unless somehow liquid manages to get in around the button but that would take a lot of careless overfilling to get to that point.

It's normal for juice residue and oxidation to build up on the conectors. You can use alcohol or whatever floats your boat to get it off, just be sure you've got all the cleaning solution off the connector before you use it again.
