I have the new istick rim kit with the melo 5 tank. I’m currently using the ec-s .6 ohm mesh coil which is rated for 15-30 watts. I have no clue why it’s rated so low because I get awesome vapor and the best flavor at 60 watts but I’m not sure what the risk is of running that high with the exception of burning out the coil. So far no dry hits and awesome flavor. I don’t chain vape so I won’t kill it that way. Just was wondering if anyone knew of any other risks of running the coil that high?

Yup, nothing to worry about, they're just recommendations. It's not a safety issue like it is with battery choice and coil wattage / resistance with mechanical mods and high-power regulated mods.

Some people prefer a hotter vape, others prefer a cooler vape. Some people only take short draws, and can use higher wattages without getting burnt / dry hits, while others take long 5+ second draws, and thus need to drop the wattage down.

As long as you're not getting dry hits, and the vapor temperature you're getting is acceptable to you, then vaping those coils at 60 watts is fine. They might not last as long that high, that's all.

I almost always vape a lower wattage then the coil manufacturers recommend. I like a cooler vape so it makes sense. I don’t bother with the recommended wattage, I just start low and work my way up to the sweet spot. I have a pretty good idea what wattage range I’ll likely prefer based on the coils ohm rating that begin with. Point being those suggestions can be ignored completely
