Riva also has a better button apparently.

Just to add a little more about the button....The Riva button is more recessed than the ego and the light is blue whereas the ego button is a bit higher and glows red. They both have the same feel when pressed. I prefer the Riva button because it is more recessed and blue is my favorite color.

I just researched this!
Every thing I read said Riva. I ordered mine 7 hours ago(now I get the "is the mail here yet" thing in the mornings)...
I found that Liberty Flights has the lowest price. Throughout the hours poured into coupon codes, I noticed that Riva is also the less expensive one, and that its parts are also less expensive(batts). And the chargers are interchangeable, so if I do want to try EGO I can just get their battery, and already have the stuff to make it go :)

Its OK to to say this isnt it? Im not a seller/supplier or such. Not giving it a plug, just my $.02 trying to answer a ?

The Riva would be my choice. I prefer its softer button and slightly hotter hit with standard cartos at 3.7 volts. BTW, In order to measure a battery's true voltage, it needs to be measured with an atty or carto attached. I used 2.5 to 3.2 ohm loads for my measurements. This is referred to as being "under load". Simply measuring the battery right off the charger will not tell you much. Both types could measure over 4 volts with no load. The Riva appears to have a bit better better ability to regulate voltages closer to 3.7 V than the original eGo which measure close to 3.2 volts under load. Still, both are great PV Batteries and wouldn't hesitate to recommend either one for a starter kit.

Welcome!

I perfer the eGo button, but the riva's 750mHa SEEMS to give a more consistent voltage vaping, honestly as time goes on your going to try all kinds of batteries least I did, 650's, 750's, 900's and 1100's, by a variety of manufacturers. Joye does make a 750, which I didn't like but I loved the 900.

Now the long and short of what I'm trying to say is, if this is your first e-cig, you can't go wrong with EITHER choice, because this is just the start of hopefully a long but happy journey for you and your e-cig. Once you start "saving" a few dollars on analogs you'll start trying all sorts of different things to find your "magic spot" and no one but you can really find that, because we all want different things out of this.

For me I started with the Joye eGo, tried ALL the cart mods out there, ended up doing standard drip instead of the mods. Tried all sorts of batteries to enhance my experience. Tried bottom feeders etc. This was almost a year ago I started my journey and I was "afraid" of making a mistake, and well I did make a mistake I tried the Blu before I found this forum, but after asking like you did, I made the jump and havent looked back!

GOOD LUCK!
