I am a newb. I decided to quit analogs 4 weeks ago and at the point I would have killed for a smoke, I bought a 21st century e-cig at a local convenient store. I love them and will never go back to analogs. My 21st century looks like an analog (or it did when purchased....made some mods to it). I didnt like the cartridges and the atomizer (didnt get anything out of it, not even smoke upon exhale). So I started buying the cartomizers and where they are great, I am not really saving any money as they are almost as expensive as the cheapie analogs I was smoking.

So thing is, I am wanting to buy another one, but I cannot afford to try this one and then it not work like I want and have to buy another one, etc. I have been looking at the Riva 510 and it looks like something I might like, dont know about the size around though.

One thing I liked and it maybe materialistic, but I want a pink one :) And I hate the green glow where the embers are supposed to be. I was also looking at Vapor Leaf King Pink KR808D-1. I see that Riva has a pink one too.

The other I have been looking at is in a local smoke store and is made in the US. www.vaperscorner.com. Its a bit more expensive than the Riva 510 if bought in store at $65 for the double starter kit and the liquid is $15 for 10 ml bought in store. To order it doesnt save me much and where I can walk in an buy it saves me having to wait for it to be delivered.

My questions are battery time, flavor time (how long does one fill last or how long will a bottle of 10 ml and 30 ml last me, average) and is it going to save me money in the long run. I find myself vaping quit often, probably more so than I did when I was smoking analogs. I just love the flavor of what I am using now. I used to smoke about a pack a day of analogs, give and take a bit. Depended on how busy I kept myself. The cartomizers (supposed to be 300 puffs) I am using now lasts me about 24 hrs or less and I sleep usually 11-12 of those hours (medical reasons). I did see about refilling the cartomizers yesterday on here and will start that as well until I purchase my new kit.

I am looking to make this purchase in the next week or two. I would love to know how you think the two will work and which one would be the better purchase?

All I can tell you is I started with one of the mini cigs (safe cig/rn4081), Batterys running out after 1.5 hours drove me to purchase a RIVA 510 clone with cartos. Just got it two days ago and it's the best thing I ever did. 750mah battery lasts about 8 hours of heavy vaping. Low resistance Boge cartos produce clouds of vapor and because they have a soft cap, it's nothing to pop a cap off and add a few more drops of juice to keep it going. My 2 cents.

Edit: Oh yeah, if you're like most, forget about saving money:)

Hi Teresa. The kits on the site you have are pricey. You can get a Riva 510 special edition kit from Liberty-Flights for $34.39 (if you press the 20% off button first. You will need juice but it comes with everything else. ( Liberty-flights is a great company and they stand behind their product.) It does not look or feel like a cigarette but the batteries can last all day between charges. The length of time a cartomizer lasts really depends on the amount of time a person vapes. Mine don't last hours as I am a chain-vaper. :) No biggy as I fill my own with what I like.

Uh-oh don't scare her away.... Theresa, if you find what works and can stick with it then it is much cheaper! Some of us tend to make vaping a hobby so trying all the mods and flavors, ect.... can get very pricey very quickly. :)

the riva will give you a much longer battery life than the other one you are considering. i am a heavy smoker and i vape every 10 minutes throughout the day and my first riva battery dies at 3 pm ruffly. i bought this: Riva Starter Kit | Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit | E Cig Kit at LiteCigUSA and it comes with 2 batteries and they last me ALL day. i use about 5ml of liquid a day (which is maybe a bit more than normal) from reading other peoples posts, they go through on average 3ml/day. i am using low resistance atomizers which gives me little more throat hit and varmer vapor: 510 LOW RESISTANCE BOGE SOFT CAP Blank Cartomizers you can re-fill them many times before they go bad. people re-fill them 5-8 times and then toos it and put a new one on. hope that helps you a little.

by the way, i am VERY happy with the riva! (tried the analog lookalike but i dont use it at all anymore)

I replied to you in the other thread- I'll copy what I posted.

Can't you refill the cartomizers for your 21st century? You get to the point though that if a pv isn't working for you it's sort of pointless to keep throwing money into it.

V4L has a kr808 which is what is in that picture and I guess it's about the same price.

The riva isn't bigger but it's fatter. Probably not as attractive as the KR808 if that's what your looking for. On the plus side the batteries last a really long time, like 8 hours. I just ordered a pink one for someone. The pink isn't the same shade as the one from Vaperscorner, at least not from the picture. The Riva is a more hot, bright pink.

Vapor Bomb has apple pie. I've never tried it but I like their juice.
Apple Pie E Liquid

I think you'll like the Riva. Almost everyone is happy that uses them. Just check the color. It's a pretty bright pink. Not ugly, but not pale pink.

Definitely get cartos. Boge 2.0.

Crystal Clear Vaping has a deal on cartos

if i had to had an analog lookalike, i would get a bloog maxx fusion

Personally, If I was going to pay over $100, I'd get a mod. Not a KR808. But I'm not looking for something that looks like an analog. If you are, they do get good reviews. It just depends what you're looking for I guess.

the M/F deluxe is $70. i dont think i could ever go back to an analog lookalike just because of the lack of battery time.
i cant see myself ever using a mod based on the looks.....but of course few weeks ago i never thought i would suck on a battery either.

Me either! Who would have thought we'd be doing this? And loving it!

im only few weeks into this but i just cant see myself going back to analogs even tho there are days when i have to fiddle and monkey with low res atties and mega this and super duper that. there are days when it seems everything is leaking or not tasting or not giving you enough of a kick one way or another but...presently my unit works flawlessly. low res attie and a tweaked cart. (less filling and a tube) i think just about every one of us would have done things differently if we knew then, what we know now. as soon as i think im set andnot going to spend any more for a while, they come up with something else that will be a "must have" for me. My experience with the Riva is very favorable. I immediately decided I didn't like carts and moved on to cartos. I now am 2 weeks into using the ego-T and find it to be the best combination of vaping quality and ease of use I have found so far. I am still using the Riva batteries so the investment moving to the ego-T was not too expensive.

Riva 510 is a great starter kit, size is about the same as a fat pen, and easy to get use to using. The 510 threading on the battery give you the opportunity to try a wide variety of attys or cartos. It's available here Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510 $30 for the Riva 510 - Lite Bundle, and spend the rest on sample juices.

Average usage is about 2-3mL of juice per day for most, so 30mL is about 10 days. Cost-wise it can vary widely, I mix my own and it may run about .30/mL, and some pre-mixed can go for over $1.00/mL. This list E-Liquid Cost-per-ml | Socrata | Making Data Social has SOME of the available juice suppliers with the cost per mL for each, it is by no means complete.
Plus there is always sales going on somewhere. (just check my sig:facepalm:)

even tho the riva batteries lasts a long time, i just managed to wear out the 2nd battery for the day. going on the 3rd.

Get an extra battery- I got a 1000 mah and it last me like a day and a half! Love this thing.

BTW, did you know that if you do reviews on your purchases at LF you get 50 credit for each review? I was reviewing up a storm and got the battery for $10.

Don't get those cartos. They are designed for high voltage mods. They can damage the circuitry of an ego/riva with the uber-low impedence(resistance). Just get a couple of boxes of Boge 2.0 cartos. They are the best! Alot of people agree, but everyone has an opinion. Some may disagree.

Face the fact that you're not smoking anymore. Why, now, does your aparatus need to look like a stinky ol' ciggy? Get something that's going to be more dependable. Riva is good stuff. I have a Riva with 2 1100mah batts and an eGo with 2 650mah batts. Looks are only vanity. Vanity is one of the 7 deadly sins.
