riva 510 or splurge on a mod????

Ok so i started on on the smoketip k808 kit got some carto's and juice but the battery life just isnt doing it for me and they run out at the most inconvenient times. I was just wondering what you all thought i should do i was thinking the riva 510 because they are fairly inexpensive or to splurge on a 100 mod or something? Thanks for the opinions.

Hello greedybeave.

The thing about a mod is.....you only have one. I like to keep 4 egos going all day long.

The best advice I can give you is.....get both. Start with the Riva kit. If that doesn't do it for you, add the mod.

BTW, which mod(s) are you considering?

well there are so many out there, but probably at the top of my list is the vp2 or the glv2.

I enjoy my Riva quite a bit, the long battery life, getting two full PV's in a kit. I enjoy them quite a bit to where I'm actually not looking into going to a mod. Hope that helps.

BTW, check out Liberty Flights, they usually have a kit with two full PV's for the Riva kit for around $35 or so.

I started with a Bloog kit, I like it but battery life sucks. Bought a Riva SE kit from Liberty Flights and been in love with it, going to be buying another kit soon just for back up. One battery last me all day and then some.

RIVA is a good "beginner" PV. But for build quality, MUCH less expensive batties ($3.50), consistency and battery life, a good 5 volt PV like the GLV2 is an excellent option.

I think wv2win is refering to the batteries for the GLV2.

That's the point, you can't. Riva/eGo, etc batteries are going to cost you anywhere from $12-$20 and have a recharge life of only about 200 charges. Plus they are proprietary. With better battery PV's such as the 5 volt GLV2, they are non-proprietary batteries that you can get at dozens of non-vaping sites and generally cost between $3.50 and $4.75. Plus they have a recharge life of about 2000 recharges or 10 times greater than proprietary batteries. Just one more advantage to a 5 volt better battery PV such as the GLV2, to go along with the better consistency and throat hit.

$3.50/$4 is the battery price if you go to a mod. Just bought a new buzz pro vv, spare pair of batts was just over $8.

Only downside to me with a riva was that it got to be a pita having to lift the center post periodically to get contact. it happened on multiple batts, from lf and elsewhere. Otherwise the price point was good.

On riva I suggest boge 2 ohm cartos, for extra warmth/vapor.

The GLV2 is a good mod and it will take almost any known atty or cart out there thanks to the resistor. But if I was to get a GLV you might as well get in on the second round of the GLV3 that just opened and get the juice feed system. Then use your current ecig for backup.

I have bought 3 riva kits (1100mah batts) ($45.00 each) and lots of atty's from eastmall and loved the hell out of em (except the afore mentioned center post adjustment). I then bought a Silver bullet for 6 volt vaping which I didn't care for but works great at 3.7 volts. Then I bought a GLV2 for 5 volt which is just about right for me (I can also put 2 3.0 volt batts vs the 3.7's they recommend in and vape at about 4 volts which is very cool). So the wife says I want one and there goes another $85 for a GLV2 Mini at 3.7 volts. Anyway Riva is good stuff but GLV's are very well made, versatile, and just damn cool to look at and hold. Oh I have also bought 3 Riva 650mah kits from Liberty flights for $29.99 each (Use the 20% discount button) and $3 for shippin' For friend's I turned on to vaping.
