Riva Battery gets hot around metal band when dripping...why?

Put the PV down and step away sir.

Dripping does generate more heat, The bridge is not sitting in a pool of juice as it is with a cart so it doesn't dissipate heat as well. Use the cone when dripping it will help to pull the heat away from the battery, and stop once in a while and let it cool down.

Excessive heat is very detrimental to Lithium batteries, if its too hot to touch comfortably its no good for your batteries. If you must drip constantly change batteries often.
