Hey guys, first post here, I saw other threads talking about this but didn't see any mention the battery getting hot. My vaping style is to drip 3 drops on my atty and pretty much chain puff those 3 till it's done. By the time I'm on like puff 4, the metal around the button area begins heating up (pretty darn hot) and by puff 5-6, the top half of the battery begins getting warm (not as hot as the metal just warm) although the bottom half of the battery stays cool. My vaping specs: black rubber ego c twist 900mah set to ~3.8v and a 2.3ohm atty. I was previously using a 3.5v steady battery and didn't ever notice the battery getting warm, what do you think, is it normal?

Greetings; Welcome to the ECF :vapor:

Just so I've got this straight, it's not rda that's getting hot, it's the actual battery itself? Is this an eGo battery, or are you talking about the button area of a mod?

Hot does not sound good -- if you have access to a second battery, does it get similarly hot?

I don't know a lot about eGo batteries (assuming that's what you're using), i.e. whether they are as potentially volatile as Li-ion batteries used in mods, hopefully someone else can provide some knowledge in this regard.

Regards

Hi shabutii and welcome to ECF.

I assume you used the same atty the same way on the 3.5V steady battery and this didn't happen, correct?

If that's correct, I think it's the board inside or the 510 connection heating up. I would try to figure out what's causing it before it gets worse and if I couldn't fix it I would get another battery soon and stop chain vaping this one. Getting the battery too hot could cause it to vent and that's dangerous. Because it's not warming up further down the Twist it's not the battery inside heating up.
