Goal: Waving goodbye to the Cancer-laden, uber addictive, exorbitantly expensive, horribly smelling, energy zapping, blood flow restricting, life diminishing Marlboro Lights (Golds) once and for all!

A friend of mine turned me on to the E-Cig months ago. He experimented with various older models, and through trial and error he came to the conclusion either the Riva or the Joy Ego was the best on the block. He opted for the Riva, and never looked back.

After trying his Riva a few times and contemplating the results, reading reviews, and doing some soul searching I finally pulled the trigger on the Riva and received the unit itself Saturday. Upon unboxing the unit for inspection, and to revel in the "Cool-ness" of it all...I promptly drove over to my friend's house and borrowed a little 11mg Apple, Root Beer Float, and Cappuccino juice, to christen the black and gold saber of "awesome-ness." ;)~

First Impressions: The tactile button and overall feel of the unit is pretty good. Much smaller than I expected it to be. I ordered the cartomizers after asking advice from my friend, and I'm glad I did. My first pull was some 11mg Apple he had lying around. I loved the flavor, but the 11MG didn't quite do the trick for my craving. Saturday alone though I cut down the analogs by over half. For me, that's saying alot! The Root Beer has a decent, sweet flavor, but isn't on my top 3. Cappuccino is alright, but again, a tad bit of an after taste. Apple is still king in my book. Chapter 1... ;)

Today my $80+ of 24 MG juices arrived from LiteCigUSA. I promptly filled up a fresh Cartomizer with some 24MG Apple and let her rip. WOW! Huge difference in the hit and Nicotine saturation. I do feel my urge disappear instantly, and the Apple flavor is fantastic!

Juices Ordered: I shied away from the 36MG after reading negative things about it being overly strong if you're a heavy smoker\vaper. The 24MG feels more than adequate without causing a head rush, or any negative side effects so far.

Flavors Ordered: Apple, Dr. Pepper, Fruit Punch, and Root Beer Float

I'll try the different ones throughout the week and see where my favorites land, but my guess is Apple is going to be the first 30ML purchase when all these 10ML's run out.

Overall: I'm very happy with the Riva itself. The button on one of the batteries became stuck in "on" position a few times yesterday, so either I have to ease up on how I vape it, or the battery\button sync is a tad off. No biggie. The pull using the cartomizer is fantastic. I haven't even tried the stock atomizer and cartridge yet. My friend told me not to bother, but I'll give it a whirl for a base of comparison.

Loving the Riva, glad I pulled the trigger, so far...so good.

That is all...

I also used 24mg to put away the smokes, when I started to DIY I went down to 18 but made a bottle of 24 for if I needed a boost. I think I am staying at 18 for awhile because I find I vape even more now but in no danger of going backwards. I am in no hurry to cut it down, if I feel like it I will go down slowly but that's one of the benefits of making your own, you can always adjust it. But I don't recommend DIY until you have given yourself enough time to sample many flavors to see what you like to vape, only then you can make good decisions on flavorings and recipes.
