Riva gold accents may not be so bad after all.

As far as I know the Riva is the only clone with gold accents instead of silver. I agree. It's a bit foo foo for me. But I like it anyway. Don't worry though. I've been abusing my Riva batteries for almost 4 weeks now, and the gold is slowly fading away to silver. Looks like by the time I get my SE I will have all silver batteries anyway.

Has anyone rubbed off the black completely? Either by accident or on purpose? I think I'll wait until mine are a bit more beat up before I do anything. I have a collision shop, so changing the colors and maintaining a factory look is not a problem for me. Of course I don't know manyasculine colors besides black and silver.

Colonel, you are really beginning to make wonder what type of Riva you have. I have been beating up my kits for a while now. The gold accents on mine are still Gold and I don't even have a chip anywhere on the Black yet. I know the picture you showed was an Ego battery and you said it had a rubbery button but other than that I can't place the manufacturer.

Somebody posted that it may be a hello Riva.

It seems like the least popular of the few made. That's why I was thinking the vendor gave me a discount on the kit. They were trying to get rid of them to make room for stock of nicer ones.

My black is chipping. Cone is worn away at the base a good deal. And the led being at the bottom makes it tough to tell when my battery goes dead.

Still vapes great though.

i have one coming from LibertyFlights right now. i wish it would get here. i went with the silver one. i've never been a yellow gold person. even my wedding rings are white gold. most of my other jewelry is silver. i have very few yellow gold pieces. like maybe 1 pair of earrings.

if i wear the yellow gold bits off, all the better.

i love the light on the end of yours! i don't think mine's gonna have one... but oh well.

i saw a post at some other forum & they were saying they peeled the black off of theirs & got it down to the silver color. like, it's a sticker or something. i don't know. i could try to find it again if you're interested...

Sid you get the silver SE model? Or the silver regular Riva? I thought they were out of stock on the silver ones except for the SE.

I'm getting the SE for the silver band and better battery.

And I'd be Interested in seeing the thread about peeling away the black finish. If you can find it.

Thanks. And good luck with the new piece your getting. Is it your first Riva?

actually the batteries are the same now in both the Rivas. The SE has instead of the Gold accents has the Chrome accents. The stainless steel is currently only available in the SE version. The peeling of the black was more of a joke on the LF thread. It could probally be done but you will have work ahead of you to accomplish it.

Batteries are the same now? Figures. Just like any other tech trends, they change before I het a handle on the original. Anyway. Check this out:
Steampunk Riva - UK Vapers

This guy removed the black from his. And it looks pretty sexy. I suppose that even though LF is out of the silver, you could always make one.

sorry i missed this. i thought you were talking to someone named Sid. i'm so dumb sometimes.

i got the regular Riva. they'd been out for weeks, but i kept checking every day. finally on Monday night i checked, just for the heck of it, & there were some there so i bought one right then. they might be out again now. i don't know. since their prices are so great, i would guess they probably are.

it's my first Riva. someone here recommended it to me cuz he said i could use KR808 cartomizers on it. (i started with the KR808 like, 5 or 6 weeks ago as my first e-cig) anyhoo, everybody's right. after a while you want to upgrade. i'm hoping i like it. (& i hope my husband does too)

we need something that holds a charge longer, cuz our electricity tends to go out a lot, out here in the woods... especially with the crazy storms we've been having lately. :p

I ordered my Riva from Liberty Flights. My gold accent is also rubbing off and slowly turning to silver. No chips on the black though. I ordered two titanium batteries and love the color.

Keep the gold fresh with a coat of clear nail polish. It should help.

I rubbed the black off one of my atty's just now. It's gorgeous. Lol. Nice shiny.

I used a little 3000 sandpaper on the gold on one of my batteries. It 'encourages' the color fade. And it's too fine to damage the black paint. Of course you could always go 2000 or 1500 and just tape off the black to be safe.

Anywho. If all the batteries are the same, I might just wait for the silver light bundle to be I stock and use the $5 for a drip tip or something.
