I prefer the new Riva 510 made by Eastmall because they are 3.7v (Ego is 3.4v). The Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.com are all new stock from Eastmall and 3.7v. The loose Riva 510 SE batteries are 3.7v. Any other loose batteries may or may not be 3.7v. If you shop there, first press 20% off upper left front page, then shop at the lowered prices. I see no reason at all to buy a Riva rather than an Ego if you are not getting a 3.7v Riva.

3.7v is important to me because I also use slim models and I want the cartos to as warm or warmer on the big battery.

As for Ego-T, some like tanks and some do not. If you buy Riva you could buy one tank atty and tanks and try that on it to see how you like tanks. I prefer to use cartomizers and keep my main flavors totally separate and not blended in an atomizer, I also don't like the bother of cleaning and replacing atomizers, and tank atomizers are more expensive than normal atomizers.

I have two riva's and a joye ego-t mega (1000mha) bat. I dont use the tank on the ego-t, just my resurrectors catro's. One thing I can say about each one, because I use both daily, is that the ego-t bats give a "cooler" vape. They also put out a little less vapor then the Riva's, but with the resurrectors its a little hard to notice sometimes. The Riva's are best fresh off the charger, as the ego-t stays the same until it dies. I am not an expert but I think why this is because the rivas are higher voltages off the charger and drop while the ego's stay @ 3.2v (I think) the entire time. I plan on getting the VV ego mod on the ego-t, and its why I bought the bat so that I have some more options available to me. They are both good, but If I had to choose one, Id go with the riva.

I love my eGo-T! I love the convenience of refilling tanks and being able to see how much juice is left. I also love the fact that all the blu carts I have work on it as well so I won't be wasting those (since I found my eGo-T after I ordered 17 boxes of them and found this website after the fact)!

You can use any carto/cart/atty on any model PV. The E-Power really provides much more bang for the buck than the ego. Why pay $15+ for batteries that will die four times more quickly when you can get better batteries for $4 that last 4 times longer.

I use the ego-t type B. Will say occasional leaking issues, but otherwise love it. My battery is 950 mAh (lasts the day). Actually just ordered a second starter kit to have extras around just in case, but no need at this point. Both my orders have been through Liberty Flights (20% of in upper left corner). Have had to deal with customer services a few times over an atomizer issue, but it was my bad (dry hit it a little hard causing a burnt metalic taste). Will say they were OUTSTANDING to deal with and definately solution based

My eGo-T tanks stopped leaking when I stopped taking the caps off to refill. Tossed the leaky tanks, and use a syringe now. Perfect.

Btw, I had atomizer issues with L F as well.

I would give 2 thumbs up for the Riva, I may also add that if your going for an Ego - Tank style kit be aware of some of the variances. Like juice flavor, whats good on other PV''s may not meet your expectations on an ego-t style pv. I will agree with other reviews with the common theme that most juices when vaped thru a ego tank style pv that the flavor is muted. Meaning you will get a simular TH and vapor production, but if flavor is high on your list then you may want to make a minimal investment on an ego-t type pv. Now if it is any other tank system I cannot comment on, I really wanted to love the tanks, but I went back to cartomizers because I really wanted the flavor on my drags.

If your strictly talking non tanks, I would go for the Riva as the price point at LF is the best for a kit, ditch the carts and get some Boge cartomizers and you will be golden on the cheap. Crystal Clear Vapes has great deals on 15 packs of carts and you get 2 free drip tips and a syringe to fill the cartoz. Best deal around, ccv and LF!

Heyas Holly,

Just to add to the general confusion.. :p

I own a joye ego and several mods. I don't have a Riva. I thought several times about buying one, but I already have alot of ego batts around, so the slight reported difference didn't seem worth buying another kit. That being said, the Riva is very well spoken of here, and seems to have a well proven track record.

I love my ego. A single 650mah batt tends to last me more than a full day of vaping, and are smaller than the higher mah batts. the 1000mah batts last even longer, and are still not too big to be comfortable.

I think you would find the difference between the joye ego and the eastmall riva to be very slight. I've read that the joye ego batts are voltage regulated whereas the riva's are not. All that means is that the joye batts will perform more consistently from start to finish, wheras the rivas will start out with more/warmer vape, but drop off as the charge wears out. But, the differences are likely very slight.

As far as one being warmer than the other, no matter which one you decide on (if you settle on either of these options) you'll likely try a variety of cartos/atties/clearos/fluxos/etc. until you find the one that works best for you, so the difference is pretty moot.

With that being said, the only practical difference I see between the two is cost and looks. If one is less expensive (usually the riva) and price is most important to you, then the riva is probably the better choice. If looks are more important to you, then choose whichever looks best in the pics.

Hope this helps without adding too much confusion. Feel free to post any other questions or concerns and we'll all happily climb all over one another again to put in our :2c:

TY at LF told me the other Riva and ego/ego clone batteriess are 3.4volts regulated which is like having an almost dead battery all day....a BIG difference!
The Riva UNC is also reged at 3.4 volts.

Someone at liberty flights actually told you that an ego was like vaping on an almost dead battery all day? That's surprising. I find the ego batts to perform very well all day with a 1.7Ω single coil carto, and some LR bridgeless atties I've tried are actually too hot on an ego batt. That's just my experience though. yymv.

Well I think I might get the riva starter kit and send the sky cig back, I was going to use it just for when I'm out and at work but after the second time I refilled the cartomizers they now have a funny taste so I don't think you can get much life out of them and the prefilled ones are quite expensive, about 9 quid for 5 which will last less than a week. I did want one that is quite small and looks like a cigarette for when I'm out but I'm not that bothered about it now.

lol Holly! Good for you!

I felt the same way when I started vaping. Was actually rather embarassed about vaping in front of ppl I knew. Then once they saw the pv and asked about it, their reactions ranged from "huh" (indifference) to "How cool is that?" and wanted to know more.

I got the rivaSE from liberty flights and couldnt be happier with it as far as a 3.7v(4.2v) device goes . Both my batts are still going strong a few months later now with no sign of weakening with everyday use . They come off the charger a hair over 4.2v every time .Manual batts ,nice blue LED button . Charger is still great . Ego style 510 connector . Even the original atties are still working and i use them to test juices all the time (except black finish flaked off).I debridged one of them . Been through about 10 cleanings already .

Get the standard 650mah Riva.TY at LF told me the other Riva and ego/ego clone batteriess are 3.4volts regulated which is like having an almost dead battery all day....a BIG difference!
The Riva UNC is also reged at 3.4 volts.

That's not what it says on their own website.
