So after recently getting into the whole sub ohm thing with my RM2 and upgraded Grand, I decided to give RxW a try.

I ordered 1ft of both the 2mm and 3mm.

First, I wound a .8ohm coil using a 1/16 drill bit, mounted it to the RM2 (with the drill bit still inside to keep coil shape). I then removed the drill bit, and simply stuffed the 2mm RxW through the coil. It took some patience, I had to cut the RxW at a slight angle to get it started, but eventually it went all the way through the coil. I snipped it off and didnt waste any of the expensive RxW.

First vape was nasty, weird chemical taste, it went away after a few sqonks, but it was noticeable. After that the flavor was excellent, better than any rba setup Ive tried in the last year! I vaped it for a few days. Rinsing/Dry burning brought the coil back to great flavor much better than my silica setups, but there was 1 problem....

IMO, the 2mm wick just cant hold enough juice! It simply wicks and dries up too fast. I found myself making extra sqonks just to be sure I didnt get another harsh dry burn.

So then I tried the 3mm RxW. This time I made another .8ohm coil but using a 7/64 drill but with less wraps. My theory was the 3mm wick will hold more juice, and I was right. The 3mm works, great flavor, less dry burns, less sqonking, more forgiving.

This is going to be my go-to wick unless something better comes out!

Also, one important thing is to BOIL your RxW. On my first 2mm build I didnt bother to boil (or torch). After that I boiled both 2mm and 3mm pieces in distilled water for 10min. It didnt harm the wick at all, and my 3mm build had no strange taste.

Good review. I also found the same about the 2mm. Once I wrapped a coil with 28ga Kanthal on a Q-Tip shaft and inserted the 3mm, everything got better. Now, I am on day 15 with that same setup and it's working great.

At .35ohms, however, it guzzles juice. I went from 4mls a day to about 9.

Good review Mike, but I might suggest that upon first use of RxW you should torch it prior to inserting it into the coil rather than boiling it. It helps to remove any impurities on the wick and also stiffens it up to help with insertion. I also might add there should never be a need to rinse and dry burn the wick either. Just a simple dry burn to clean up the coil and wick is needed, even for a juice swap. I have never had any problems with the 2mm and not being able to wick properly, but then again I have never tried the 3mm to compare the two. As to the chemical taste, I have never experienced any to date but that might also be due to torching the wick prior to use as explained above...

Mike, it's so good to read that you're liking the RxW. I know you've been trying for months and months to find the flavor with the rebuildables, and it sounds like you have. I am really liking the RxW as well. I don't boil it, but I do torch it. I also stick a pin down the middle to open up the channel.

+1 just dry burn a new wick and coil…it will get rid of the odd taste of a new wick in short order.

I've cut two different wicks so far for my Cyclone and have yet to have to stick anything through it to open it up. I can look straight through it after I put it through the coil. I've never seen it collapse. Maybe it is the way I roll it when I screw it into the coil.
I was the same, never a collapse but truly I think I get better flavor and wicking. I think it forces the wick to deflect a little around the coils giving it better vapor. Try it with a paper clip or small gauge needle on your next coil.
