# of wraps depends on size of wraps. I usually wrap my wire around a piece of 3mm silica doubled over like in Robs video. I wrap 4/5 wraps then check with multimeter unless I'm going to be using the coil on 1 of my VV's then not so important since I just turn the voltage up or down to compensate also I mostly use 30awg since its more durable and easier to work with IMO

Hey Q,

I feel your pain. I actually went to a b & m close by and paid like 3 bucks a foot for some Kanthal to practice making coils before I got my 1st rba. This thread RM2 / RBA 2.0 / Reomizer 2 Rebuild Tutorial
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=9421933

should help you and answer some of your questions. One things for sure - it's easy. You can do it and do it well :)

For all you RM2 users (patiently waiting to receive mine) about how many wraps of 32 Kanthal to get 1.5 ohms?

Also, just curious ``what ohms do you like to vape at? I realize this is a little different for everyone.

depends on the wick you use etc - i use 32g kanthal, i'd take a stab at 3 or 4 on silica wick. Maybe more if you make a mesh or cotton ball wick.

i run a couple of grands and i like them to be in 1.5 - 1.7 range, for no other reason than that's about 8W. Much less then that and i fry juice.

Also some (most i guess) devices will not fire at all with an atomiser under 2, but a mechanical will.

Actually that's closer to the 10w range since your Batts start out at around 4.2v but who's counting :D

If you ain't vapin' at 18 watts you might as well be suckin' on a candy cigarette. (Huh, wonder if that's why my cotton wicks only laster an hour before they burst into flames. Now I use asbestos wicks, less danger... no chance of flames.)
