Wouldn't hurt to give it a cleaning.
Several ways to accomplish that, including...
* immersing it in boiling water for 5 mins or so - drop or two of Dawn liquid detergent helps. Rinse well after washing.
* using denture cleaner (just as if it were a set of false teeth).
* alcohol bath - vodka or pure grain alcohol will work. Rinse well after cleaning.
* use of an ultrasonic cleaner. Bit of a cost to get one, and prolly not worth it if your cleaning needs are small, but works the best, arguably. It can also be used to steep DIY
juice (turns 2 weeks of steeping in to 2 hours).
* as the RM2 has a ceramic base, I've found a bath of baking soda works well to clean it, specifically (the denture cleaner does a good job, too).
