hi...got my first bottle of liquid about a week ago - I've been refilling the carts I got with the ecig, 3-4 drops and 1 on the atomiser. All good up til now, just noticed though that the gauze is turning brown almost immmediately...the retailer advises not to use them if this happens. thought I would get a few more refills out of them? I only vape in the evenings...I'm not burning out another atomiser already am I??

That is what is called the core which is made of polyerster fiber. You need to either buy blanks or in the alternative go to any fabrid store and buy polyester quilt batting. You simply pull the core out of the cartridge, wash the cartridge, and cut to size a piece of batting. IMO it is the exact same thing as the original core and saves you money from having to buy blank cartridges. You can also get some more life out of the core you have by pulling the core out and boiling it in water for 10 minutes--let it dry or hit it with a blow dryer if you are in a hurry, reinsert into the cartridge and refill with e-liquid---Hope that is helpful--Sun
I'm also on a 4081, and I haven't had it singe the carts except when I vape it completely dry; which is bad for the atomizer. I usually top it off when it starts to get that 'dry' taste that means it's getting low, but never more than about 3/4 full, or you start to get mouthfulls of the stuff.
