CASAA: Call to Action! Maine Bill to Tax E-Cigarettes At Same Rate as Cigarettes -- HB 950

Impose a wholesale tax on all smoke-free products (including e-cigarettes) that will be equivalent to the tax on a pack of cigarettes (currently $2.00). The Maine State Tax Assessor will be given the power to decide how this tax would be applied to e-cigarette disposables, liquid, mods, cartomizers, atomizers, batteries, etc.


Tax batteries at the same rate as cigarettes? Gonna be a lot of irritable women in Maine.

This stuff just never ceases to amaze me. A bunch of people who don't qualify for a real job, who couldn't lead a child out of a burning building or a sailor into a ..... house seem to think they know what's best for the rest of us. Members of the Greatest Generation are spinning in their graves.
