Rocket spits juice

vaping away on my rocket on a mech. 1.0 ohm microcoil with cotton yarn wick.

about every third vape or so, as soon as I hit the fire button, it makes a pop sound and spits a gob of juice out the tip...

weird.

aside from that it seems to be working pretty much ok. Taste is great. Vapor production isn't what I expected, about as good as my carto tank.

Getting real sick of juice on my tongue though.

No real gurgle in the draw... It's not like vaping a flooded clearo or carto, it just goes pop and a little gob of juice comes flying out.

However, with the airflow screw completely removed, the problem seems to have abated...

Maybe I was drawing in too much liquid?

Vapor production is even lower with so much air, and it's getting a little dry... I guess I need to find a happy medium.

This has never happened to me with mine. Running a 0.9 ohm coil with silica and it snaps, crackles and pops quite a bit.

Try turning it upside down and blow through the drip tip. If there is any excess juice in the Rocket it will flow out of the air hole quickly so have a paper towel there to catch it. If there is nothing, you haven't lost anything.

I've got the flow control wide open and find lung hits give more vapor and flavor than mouth hits.

I get the pop now and then on first fire. No juice out the top.
Air flow screws removed on either Rocket as I like the wide open Draw.

You might try reducing wick in the channels. Sounds like it is restricting flow.

Gonna be time for a re wick soon anyhow. I guess trying less wouldn't hurt. I got no juice coming out blowing through. I cant wait to really have this dialed in... Liking the flavor so far, that's for sure.

It's not a sub ohm dual coil dripper, but it's not a too-distant second.

I had to put my drippers away until I can get some lower nic juice. This 12 mg 80% pg was just way too much on that!

Once you break in the coils a bit, the popping sort of tames down. The problem could be your juice. I notice that some juices pop more than others.

Take note of wick placement
Also a good reference for setting up cotton. I lightly drape cotton into the channel and then add a 2mm(approx)ring of cotton around the coil. Works/wicks beautifully.

Ill have to try something like that on my next re wick. Re wicked this morning and cut the yarn a bit shorter, and so far so good. About a half a tank through it so far, and it's vaping like a dream! I can't believe how much a difference such a small change makes, but heck I'm not complaining at this point!
