This is my first kayfun style atomizer, so not too familiar with its quirks. I realize this is a cheap knock off, but I did a build on it, filled and vaped until near empty, I have since disassembled, and refilled from the top and it's just leaking like crazy thru the AFC? Why?

As always thanks for any replies!

If you took your time about it, juice flowed from the tank up the juice channels, into the atomizing chamber, down the air tube/screw, filled the collector tank... and out the air vent.

Be very quick when top filling, turn the atty upside down for a bit, then right side up... then take a few draws with your finger over the air vent to build a bit a negative pressure in the tank.

I took the V2 apart, drained all juice, then I watched some videos on top filling Kayfun clones, which btw is the only way too fill a Rocket V2, anyways I still dont quite understand the need to create negative pressure while filling but I followed instructions and refilled the V2.

Better this time, but still leaking slowly out the AFC. Mabey I need to rewick the cotton, or play around with its location in the chimney humm..

You may have the coil too close to the top of the build deck. There should be at least a 1mm gap, and I usually go with 1.5-2mm. If the wick is "resting" on the edges of the build deck, juice can migrate that way as well.

Click on my second sig line link and scroll down to "How tank type atomizers work" for a better understanding of pressure differential.

I have 3 Rockets and I love them. Never leak a drop for me. I use the fill hole but you need the proper juice tip. Can fill them right to the top in about 4 seconds. Most dependable heads I own. I have drop them, knock them over, sat on it and about every situation one could imagined and never leak. Huge vape with a 1.1 ohms coil and wicked with cotton.

Wheelie, you must have the V1. I have the V2 which has a knurled ring at the base, and nothing else. The ring is the AFC, with option for 1 or both (1mm) holes for airflow. There is no bottom fill option, unless I am missing something... which I believe I am not.

But Im happy to hear those Rockets are working for you, and Thank you State o F. I will check that out next!

State O Flux, I read your blog entry, which is great btw, I would like to know more about this "boundry layer" but probably not in this thread although who cares really! I have not been able to solve this problem yet by rewicking ( with less wick and a few draws to create that negative pressure) and Im starting to think my fasttech RBA is that get what you pay for variety!

An unfortunate quirk of the V2. Unless you vape it dry, the base tends to flood a bit. Invert it, wrap it with a paper towel, then blow out the excess. Closing the AFC when filling might help minimize the flooding.

Ok, so I'm not the only one!
