These style of ads appear on my Yahoo home page and are based on browsing history.. they look convincing but are a fabrication.. this one is for the e-cigarette.. it appears to look like a study being done by a "famous" TV station, using a long time analog smoker reporter/news anchor, as a tester of quitting smoking using the ecig over a 4 week period.. it looks and feels like a real big time TV study but bogus.. it is an attempt by an ecig supplier to sell their product using false claims and at an inflated price.., all the more reason to use a forum like this to get answers to questions and stay informed

Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, and TDSS rootkit have a permanent place on my PCs. Windows Defender is another one that is useful.

I have friends who have brought me their computers in dire straits to the point where you couldn't boot and use the machine for all the popup windows wanting you to click and buy the removal tool for the virus they put on their computer. The above tools used in safe mode are all I've ever needed to return them to proper running order. I keep copies of those on a thumb drive for such use, also.

I know there are a multitude of good tools. Those are just the ones I have found really useful and comprehensive.
