Rough Skin

Some time back I noticed that the skin on the side of my index finger was getting a bit rough….couldnt figure it out because the other index finger is normal.

Yesterday I spent some time wrestling with a stuck merlin top cap (seriously, what a POS)….suddenly it clicked that maybe the constant opening and tightening of tanks is to blame. The spot that has the rough skin matches exactly with the part that comes into contact with attys while opening and closing them.

Im hereby diagnosing this ailment as "vape Finger".

I get little slices on the top sides of my fingers regularly from taking apart top caps and tanks. I'll get burns/cuts on the tips of my pointer fingers after wrapping claptons and when using ribbon wire. I got a nasty slice in my thumb once when I got frustrated with a complex build. I have learned patience when building now, but as you said Cumulo "scars of combat" are to be expected in the Game of Ohms

Pro tip: Use latex gloves. You don't even have to wear them, just wrap one around whatever you're trying to unscrew and off you go. You'll be amazed.

Yeah, some of the threads on these atties could be chef knives ffs! Goblin Mini V3 cut me up during the first disassembly/cleaning.
