I ordered a replacement cap for my rough stack. Not because I needed a replacement, but because I bought the long body tube and decided I really liked it and should just have 2 complete rough stacks instead of a short and a long tube to swap the top back and forth on.

Anyway, I'm a little baffled by the switch behavior. I can't figure it out. The new switch works just fine at 6.0v but then won't fire when I put a 3.7v battery in. If I take the switch out of the cap and put it back together, it then works fine with a 3.7. Put the 6.0v battery kit back in and vape till they die, and then put an 18650 back in and again it won't fire. Take it apart and put it back together and it works fine again.

I don't get it. The spring looks OK and the batteries fit fine. No such thing happens with my other cap/switch. This is a really simple switch. Am I missing something? -- It's not anything urgent as I decided to just try to remember which cap is which and keep the new cap on the short body. But, with such a simple device, there has to be something easy I'm missing or doing wrong. Any idea?

I figured it out. My eyes are old, but once I took a magnifying glass to it, I found a little solder on the edge of the circuit board. At some point spinning on and off the lid, the switch must shift a little and short out. An exacto knife took care of it... but I think I'm going to order a spare switch just in case.

OK. Now I have a question about the Rough Stack Switch. -- After fixing the new one, I noticed that the point of battery contact is different on my switches. On the old one, the solder is flat against the PCB. On the new one, the solder is raised quite a bit. -- The old one will not make proper contact with a flat top battery, but is fine with button tops. The new one is raised so it will contact a flat top battery and of course a button top is fine too. -- I'm sure I could just add a drop of solder to the old one to raise the point of contact.

My question is this: What is the spec? If I buy a replacement switch, will the point of contact be raised or flat? -- This will be an important issue when madvapes starts selling the 5.0v batteries if they are the same ones that electronicstix sells (they are flat top).
