RSM Hybrid by Rocket Science Mods

Designed to follow a natural evolution of our previous atomiser ranges, we are thrilled to present our latest product - the RSM Hybrid.


The RSM Hybrid - initially available with genesis atomiser head (dripper head will follow in September 2014). Initially available in 18350 mode, size is 92mm to the top of the topcap (roughly the same as a provari mini without an atomiser attached). Cut from solid stainless steel stock, fetaures a a bronze ultra low pressure double piston switch for feather light / smooth operation (0.5mm throw). The threading on the RSM Hybrid is standard m20x1 (for switch & atomiser sections).


The RSM Hybrid is a great wicking device & is designed to run with a sealed deck (all holes plugged). This makes it significantly less prone to flooding / excess juice issues.


The chamber design of the topcap is a double step reduced chamber, with an effective chamber size of 14mm x 5mm (circular). This gives a vape similar to the more intense 16mm sized atties, but with the aesthetics & juice capacity of a 22mm unit


Tank capacity is 2.3ml, can run as single or U wick setup.


All insulators on the new hybrid are cut from high spec PEEK which is much more resistant to melting from high power vaping setups.


Shown above with our new 'Nano tip' which is 9mm in length / ultra widebore (will be available when the Hybrid is launched on 30th May, 2014).


18500 tubes & a dripper head will be available August / September 2014, both separately & as complete hybrid units.

Just purchased this newly released Hybrid on 5/30/2014 from RSM online from their website. They are usually a limited release of a certain # of units, this release was sold out in less than 30 minutes.

For those that don't know RSM, they are the makers of the RSM Rocket, RSM Doodlebug, and RSM Doodlebug SE.

If the Hybrid is anything close to their Rocket and Doodle lines, this thing will be AWESOME!

And the waiting game begins.

PS. Hope Matt of RSM doesn't take my above post in any negative way. Just getting the word out to fellow vapers of the awesome products by RSM and to promote discussion here on ECF.

Says stuff....but doesn't really say much about the device.
Love the styling of this piece.
I really like hybrids. The silver dog hybrid is my back up device, and this looks great.
More details and less superfluous color would probably help sell more devices.

Yes this version is a 350 hybrid with genny. Think a 500 version and a dripper hybrid of sorts is also planned in the very near future.

My $.02 is you get what you pay for... Usually. If you spend some good money on a good mod and atty separately, you can easily pay more than what this hybrid is going for. Think the hybrid by Hellfire is almost double the cost of RSMs Hybrid RRP.

The post literally describes the device from top to bottom and gives future options. As far as selling out, you're not likely to find one without preordering or being on a list well ahead of time, $500 or not.

And I am betting it does not vape any better than a $99 iHybrid Pure. The price is flat out ludicrous, as is their whole lineup. Granted, the Doodlebug is a great atty and I would expect the hybrid to be along the same lines, BUT the Doodlebug is not better than a Kraken wich was no where near the price of the Doodle... You get my drift.

What's the OD of the device?
How is the deck sealed?
If its made to order then why is there a wait on tubes for other batteries?
How is the switch made?
"Double piston"...?
What are the contacts made from?


You idea of a complete discription differs greatly from mine.
However at $500 a copy I'm not a player at all.
Nothing i see here justifies that premium price to me.

Sorry, I have to correct you as this isn't true at all. Yes, the HF Hybrid costs more but not to the point of double the amount. Here's a price-check:

£300 HF Hybrid, base product.
£270 RSM Hybrid, base product.

I've owned and used all of RSM's products. The throw is nice and button and atty connectors are solid bronze and brass respectively. Lovely throw on this thing.

As for the atty portion, the vape experience is somewhere in between a Bug and a Rocket. Draw isn't as tight as a Bug but vapes more intense. Draw isn't as loose as a Rocket and is slightly more intense than a Rocket. Ease of setup is almost at a noob/novice level. Price-wise, a little rich but there are little things that Matt (RSM) does to the mod that adds on to this value. I'll do a pictorial review once I can find time. Hopefully, in the next couple of days.

On another note, some people have differing opinions of what makes a good / great vape. Some prefer fat wicks and cotton and all that jazz, some prefer tightly rolled, skinny mesh. In turn, this preference will lead to your idea of a good vape. If you're keen on using steel rope, cotton, fat wicks and sub-ohms for cloud chasing, this isn't for you. If you prefer skinny wicks that needs no tilting to vape even with a sealed deck, semi-tight Sat22 like draw and still kicks ... @ 1.3 ohms, this RSM Hybrid does all that. To each his own as long as you're happy with your gear.

Noob here ;-\ anyone mind sharing some picture of how the "U wick setup" works?
Also, do you have to carry the allen(hex) key all the time for refill?

The hybrid is a wonderful mod, Its my very first mod and manage to make the coil and mesh with the help of youtube.
It does took me a while to figure out that I should not over tighten the top pin for it to work for AW-18350.
